Point 1 is correct, but they still expect you to the sell that item which incurred 12k tax, otherwise the govt just lost 12k.
Point 2 is also incorrect.. you cant claim gst input on business expenses, everyone does it now because govt just doesnt have the time or resources to go after every petty bills and verify stock.

The whole point of GST input is so you can sell that item again and not incur gst tax again on the full amount.. if they started giving tax inputs on all business expenses than the business owner has no incentive to actually pay the tax.. ANYONE will rather buy an item and save tax than actually pay the tax.

If I were a legit reseller, it makes no sense to buy from amazon right? I think there might be bulk discount now, but buying one item for say 10k (incl. tax), and then selling it for even 10.1k to end customer wouldn't work as they could just buy from amazon directly for lesser.

I am responding here since I feel this is the appropriate thread for this question - do we want to restart the price check thread ? It is a fair question.
I feel yes, we could start it but only with appropriate controls and access restrictions in place to avoid what was happening before. More than extra moderation, I now think it was more a question of if it was possible to mitigate the issues which led to it being stopped in the first place and, if not, whether the risk was worth it to continue that. The Mods and the Admin can only confirm.
Price checks are helpful but then there are other ways to determine the appropriate price anyways - existing sale threads of same or similar products, online prices, etc. If nothing else, no one is stopped from listing at whatever price they want and members can PM the seller about the more appropriate prices.
In terms of promoting active members to share responsibilities, I think I saw a thread somewhere on adding new Mods but don't recall what became of that.
Allowing Patrons in Classifieds poses a risk but that would be a choice with the other party and how they work out the deal - eg. receive and test item first and then pay ? Even non-Patrons with zero rep in the market have to start somewhere and they also pose identical risk.

I am aware. There is no rule around it and this aspect has been discussed number of times. Often members get stuff cheaper in a deal, pricing errors etc. and would like to sell it based at "existing prices" which would be higher and, thereby, profit. There is nothing wrong with that but they probably cannot reconcile their conscience or do not want to be called out as "scalpers" by some folks here.

Perhaps! With CS2 Announcement, prices of skins went through the roof and rn they sort of seem to be dipping again so many people are cashing out. Could just be a coincidence as well. I'm not that well versed with how cs skisn trading works in India but I suppose they found it more profitable to

a) sell on steam and get wallet balance and to then offer the balance to anyone wanting to buy a game or skin with 10-15% discount on techenclave

rather than to use a third party site or steam group (again I have zero clue on how it works here in India, I just gamba away on cases) and cash out with a dealer.

Kind of OT: There used to be a price discovery/check thread in the classifieds section, I'm not sure if it has been removed or the discussion has moved to another thread. Can someone guide me to the right spot? I am looking to post a classified ad.

Wish there was a way to anonymize price checks. Most problems would go away with them I guess. But too much work

Well buyer seller who by pass the rules should realise the dangers of the same. A Disclaimer should be put to this effect. I request that the same be restarted for a brief period of time and take it from there.

I saw that deals were completed over private message for items mentioned in that thread without going through the marketplace section/feedback process. This has the potential for shady transactions without transparency or accountability that may end up as bad experiences for both sellers and buyers — and then the blame falls on the forum and its moderators.

why are people doing shady deals when you can do a much open deal at fair prices.
its like people want to be scammed.
honestly, forum should just ignore if shit goes down in these cases.

People would rather blame the entire world than accepting their own mistake. In this case, forum will get most of the blame by such users.

OT someone did a deal on OLX with some graphic card . And now the problems are listed here by both the parties looking for a resolution . This will further complicate issues . All deals must me done on the forum . Only then resolutions can be reached here . Nothing off the forums must be encouraged .
