Well for this you'll need a ADSL modem cum wifi router...

There's the Netgear DG834G (arnd 3.5k) , Linksys WAG200G and Buffalo WBMR-G54... Not sure abt pricings of the Linksys and Buffalo ones but they should be arnd the same range...

All these have a ADSL2+ Modem, a WiFi Access Point & 4-port Ethernet switch built in ..

It costed me roughly $60, somebody quoted 3.8k in Delhi. Again avoid Netgear PCI card, I have one for my sis's box and man they suck big time. Same location, Netgear PCI card keep dropping connection, however mine HTC S620 Works purrrfectly!

well the WBMR-G54 certainly better than netgear router WGR614 speed wise.

I would advice: Keep the wireless router and modem separate. The basis behind this one is thus: Just one CPU / limited RAM and you have multiple tasks: A wireless router, a pppoe dialer / monitor and ofcourse then the usual chore of NAT and other such stuff. The system thus may under perform. On the other hand checkout the RAM size of WBMR-G54, if its about 32 Mb, then may be u can go ahead. However if the CPU is 200Mhz and RAM is 16 Mb then I will suggest that you stick to different units.:(

WHR-G54S should serve u very well...
it costs 2150/- net of taxes..

this device is not a modem..its only a router..
so if the TATA BB ppl have given u a modem, then u just have to connect the cable coming out of ur modem to the router and thats it..
in case u decide to move to the the BSNL dataone conn, its the same drill..u will have to get the modem separately..just take it on rent from BSNL..there shud be no compatibility issues
hope this helps..
