Online activism seems to have worked.. Servify replaced my damaged touchscreen and charged on 1k mandatory deductible.. Albeit they took more than a month to get it done.. Have now gone for a military grade spigen back cover and tempered glass screen protector..

I called it a sham as they had denied me insurance despite following all the guidelines for claiming the insurance.

I think they do realize the ramifications of allowing unknown third parties to influence user experience for their brand. Which is why, I have now got a confirmation from Servify that they will cover my phone under insurance and will repair my display. This could've been easily avoided.. they...

Did that too.. albeit of no use.. Just got a call from Servify though.. they are willing to relook at it and provide me cover.. hope my social media complains help..

Have already done that.. even complained to Amazon support about it..

I did all that was required to claim insurance.. including registering the device and claiming service through the app installed on my damaged phone.. I could do it as my touchscreen after the damage was still working.. Servify guys acknowledged my service request and even collected the device...

It's a no-brainer to do a factory reset on the phone one gives to the service center.. The terms and conditions nowhere state that the app should always be installed on the phone.. It just says that it should be registered and the claim should be made on the app installed on the damaged phone...

Yes.. Don't want to buy any chinese brands like Oneplus, Xiaomi, Lenovo or even Asus.. All these have their own share of troubles.. It looks good.. but at 5.7 inches.. I'll have to get my new pants custom stitched to have huge pockets..
