    It's possible your wiring is at a higher distance to their "server room" so the speeds can't reach 40 mbps due to signal losses.

    I had got a TP-Link wifi pcie adapter (150 mbps wifi-N) which has a Qualcomm Atheros chipset and that worked out of the box with mainstream linux distros since the last 4-5 years.

    Antec PSU should also be good enough. Seasonic and Corsair are good but avoid Corsair CS series PSUs.

    PSU is poor quality one I guess. A defective PSU can definitely cause BSODs so I would try replacing the PSU in any case in addition to checking network/audio card on motherboard.

    LOL, I dont have a clue, last time I struggled with USB dongles on linux was in ubuntu many years ago and I read something about installing and configuring "usbmodeswitch" package.

    Are you sure about this? I have the R7000 I got 2 years ago and IIRC it does have option to enable WPA2 on wifi... even way cheaper routers have WPA2 available.

    It's just a browser warning which you can ignore/bypass, must be your browser was updated to show this warning. Click on "show details" then proceed/ignore the warning and you should be able to get in.

    Yeah we can trust TRAI for such gems of regulations. Although in your case it sounds like some real issue which can be resolved. I doubt Airtel is intentionally throttling speeds to international locations (non CDN). Keep pestering them and hopefully they should resolve it.

    Yeah but hasn't TRAI left a loophole for the ISPs to exploit? Terms and conditions that says "up to 80% of the speed till the ISP node" anything beyond that is fair game for the ISP to not provide advertised speeds.
