Graphic Cards HD6950 Overheating on Two monitors.. that too without load

@Chaos... I did try that once, but for some reason newer catalyst drivers don't play well with IGP drivers (Intel HD4000), I think because of OpenCL. Even when I managed (once) to get both working properly, Radeon's OCL performance goes drastically down. So, as of now... there is not clear way...

Graphic Cards HD6950 Overheating on Two monitors.. that too without load

Ouch... how old is your card? Seems to be an issue with card itself. If the core voltage is staying 1.2v idle regardless the number of monitors, that seems high, even taking into consideration that this is last generation's card. If it's bought locally and has warranty left, I suggest you get it...

Graphic Cards HD6950 Overheating on Two monitors.. that too without load

This might not just be the problem with your cooling. Although by your description your GPU fan seem to be culprit, but there is another issue with dual monitor setup that is causing these cards to hit high temps. I've had a same issue and this seems to be the problem with either drivers or the...

User Review Gaming GPUs, beyond just gaming...

Prologue GPU, as we know it today, has been evolving by leaps and bound from its early days. The first graphic chip to coin the term GPU was nVidia GeForce 256. Today, several generations later, a GPU has become an integral part of most of the computer systems and then some. While most of us...

Storage Solutions PC running slow, due to bad HDD?

There could be many different reasons for the lag. 1) Check the memory health. Bad or failing memory can cause lag or stutter-ish moments in UI interactions. Search for tool called Memtest, download and follow instructions to test it. 2) Check the dust status inside the cabinet, CPU heating up...

    RAW images problems with Lightroom

That is interesting... looks to me that the NEX6 profile for Lightroom might be incorrectly configured or it's reading the lens data plain wrong. I'll look into the lightroom settings tonight and see if I can find some weird option that may cause this. The other program that you mentioned...

CPU/Mobo Intel Ivy Bridge Discussion Thread

#[member='dfcols71'], I'm going to use the same cooler that I've currently, CoolerMaster V8. It's not one of best cooler around but it does a decent job and I had bought it, literally, for dirt cheap. As for overclocking, I'm a very very reserved overclocker and prefer to stay at stock voltage...

CPU/Mobo Intel Ivy Bridge Discussion Thread

#[member='cyberwarfare'], 600T is still on top of my list. However, if I decide on Maximus Gene, then I would probably want to build something more compact. But still haven't found any less-gigantic cases with 4-5 HDD bays that I really liked (actually, haven't yet researched for such cases...

CPU/Mobo Intel Ivy Bridge Discussion Thread

^ I agree about Gene-V, that's the reason why it's on my consideration list. To be frank, I won't know until I've done some more reading and some more research. But yeah, the lower price point and added features are surely enticing over Sabertooth. RAM is more difficult choice though. One thing...

New Gmail look, why isn't anyone complaining

I have been fan of the new look since it was introduced. I hated the previous/old/classic look. I think one of the reasons why I like the new look is, it's pretty similar to the one I had created using Stylish for Firefox. There were few minor annoyances in the new look, but nothing that I...

CPU/Mobo Intel Ivy Bridge Discussion Thread

3770K and I'm leaning mostly towards Sabertooth Z77 board. There is that Maximum Gene V teasing me, but I think it's going to be Sabertooth in the end. Now the only thing I've to decide or rather finalize is on Memory and SSD. Too many choices, too little available here in India and then there...

CPU/Mobo Intel Ivy Bridge Discussion Thread

Come to think of it after all the reviews, it's pretty simple. If you have Sandy Bridge already, there is a very little reason to upgrade to Ivy Bridge. For everyone else, especially those who skipped SNB generation, IVB brings a lucrative options to the table. It may not overclock as insanely...

CPU/Mobo Intel Ivy Bridge Discussion Thread

So far there seems to be just one site reporting about 95w part... I would guess that if this news was true and really that significant, most of the major publications would have reported this and the whole interweb would have been pounding Intel let and right by now. Either this news is fluke...
