Hi, First decide on the overall budget. This would help us to make suggestions based on your budget. Just had few thoughts - Processor: you have mentioned that you will be over-clocking the CPU, I would recommend to opt for an AMD X4 965 and this will save you atleast 4.5K on the processor...

OC & Modding Overclocking help athlon x4 630

This is pretty impressive for someone new… you have already running the processor at 3 GHz, what kind of cooling did you employ..? I Guess if you further reduce the temp, you can reach 3.1-3.2 Ghz. But be careful, overclocking voids your warranty.:)

PC Peripherals Suggest PC for 30k

+1 for Anubis’s suggestion. AMD platform makes more sense in that price range. I’d suggest getting the Cooler Master Elite 335 with SMPS instead of the Zebronics one and be immune to cabinet and power issues.

    CPU/Mobo Phenom II 920 Overheating

Must be a problem with either the fan or the PSU. Check both. When a proc is undervolted, to get the power needed, the current drawn is higher. If you keep waiting, you have to keep waiting. The price of the 5000 series is quite decent considering the performance it delivers. NVidia’s Fermi is still on paper. God only knows when it might come out. Besides, ATI has been the pioneers in the technology and I believe their cards will be...

    PC Peripherals Upgrade time

Just to keep it all future proof without having too many sockets to deal with, go for the AMD solution. A 785G board with Athlon II X4 620 or a 790FX Board with Phenomm II X4 940/955. This is based on the AM3 socket which is nowhere near dying in the near future unlike Intel socket which...

PC Peripherals Help me chose HTPC components

Power efficient Athlon II X2 is the 240e, although I’d suggest going for a quad core. APC 500VA is sufficient to switch off the system as soon as the power goes off but if you want backup, then go for a minimum of 650VA. Preferably a 800VA or a 1KVA. PSU – get a minimum of Corsair VX450...
