Had ordered an Atrix for a friend from US and received it few days back but right from the first boot its stuck on the boot screen with Moto logo and displays the error, "Modem did not power up (0)" and below that in the next line, "Starting RSD Protocol". The phone boots up fine in other modes...

My suggestion while taking phone for an elderly person will be to go for a screen size of 3.5" or more so that its easier for them to type and select menu options. With that in mind, i would suggest to take a look at Motorola Fire XT as well, has everything that Wildfire has with a 3.5" screen...
