So the verdict is the card is a better buy when compared to the 480 for current gen directX 11 games. Upcoming DirectX 12 games may be a different story altogether as the AMD has the advantage of being more future proof with its better Async compute performance.

Pretty sure, AMD did this to have more stock of the 4gbs at the $200 price point available at loaunch. Well its a good time to buy a 4gb right now and get a free upgrade to 8 gb version. Seems like 4 gb is sold out most places and I am sure the later 4gb cards are going to be strictly 4gb once...

Apparently most of the 4gb 480 models have actually 8 gb RAM which are just locked by BIOS. Seems like this can be unlocked to 8gb by a BIOS flash. :)

Cant say via a direct comparison but I would choose Overwatch just on the fact that it is Blizzard over battleborn. Pretty sure it is going to have better support and gamer count over time.
