gaming would strictly @ res 1280 x 1024 not more than that fps should be good not stutter at that with meduim settings. Include 17 inch LCD in the budget needs ASAP within 2 to 3 day

regards
Faisal

better option for you at that budget would be xbox 360.

18k including lcd = no gaming. atleast not if you are buying everything new.

How is it possible to game @ res 1280 x 1024 with the above config ?. Atleast a 9600gt / 4670 GPU + a 460w PSU is required, isnt it ?. Even if you add these, i doubt whether stutter free gaming would be possible to game at 1280 x 1024 with the above config

How can you say it is not possible when u should it can be probable
so for stutter free gaming min of 25 fps is required if I am not mistaken
and he would play only those games which are not heavy on the rig
not Crysis or Stalker CS
even farcry 2 will be able to give 30 at the res with min-mid settings
c'mon yaar we can do it.
time is what I don't have
I will be 24X7 on the system so keep those suggestion coming in

if u turn most of the eyecandy off you can be surprised wht some real low end rig can handle at those resolution, till about 8 months ago i was playing at thoose resolution with my agp 7600gt.

biostar 785g mobo with ddr3 support retails for 3.65k

so what will be the minimum cost of a board with 128 mb of sideport memory in it. which is definitely going to give a boost as it won't be sharing a part with the ram. with ddr2 support.

So guys
This is my build uptil now
AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8ghz - - - Rs. 2650
iBall Cabinet with 450 watt PSU - -Rs. 1300

Asrock A785GM-LE 128MB Side- - Rs. 3400 has 2 memory slots
or Biostar TA785GE 128MB Side - - Rs. 4000 has 4 memory slots
