24X7 downloading rig and HTPC

I need 24X7 downloading rig plus a htpc combine.

My budget is around 6K to 8K.

Less power consumption & less noise.

PLS suggest me some hardware.

You are building from the ground up, sorry you cannot get an Intel ATOM OR AMD Brazos platform in that tight a budget.

The hard drive ~500GB itself will bite around ~4000/- from the budget, µITX motherboard + fused processor [either Intel ATOM package OR AMD Brazos] will set you back by ~5000/-.

Cabinet and SMPS ~4000/-.

I already hav a old pc which is intel p4 it can play hd videos but not but not full hd or blu ray rips it has only vga. can anyone suggest a cheap graphics card with hdmi or DVI.

and the motherboard model no is INTEL D865GLC

In which case, get an AGP/PCI graphics card for about 4K and that will ensure you can play Full HD. Else get the Broadcom Crystal Decoder Card (dunno pricing) and use that.
 
Why don't you get one of those high end media players like AC Ryan PlayON etc. they can easily play any file you throw at them, have bittorrent downloaders(don't know if they support http downloading) and most importantly ultra low power consumption. Cost should be 8-9k.
 
Sorry for hijacking the thread. I have everything except a processor to build a htpc I also have a nvidia 8400 gpu what is the cheapest processor I can get btw Mobo is 775 socket.

Don't hijack threads like this,If you have 775 socket mobo then you can get Intel Core 2 Duo E7500-6k OR [font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Intel E6600 Dual-Core-3.5k [/font]in the market,i am not sure you'll get it or not.
