Hi all,
I have to buy an LED HDTV within this week with the following requirements, need your suggestion :

  • Must be full HD (40" to 42") with great picture quality and contrast ratio.
  • Non Smart, Non 3D. (Will buy Android TV dongles for smart capabilities in future, don't need 3D)
  • Good upscaling capabilities.
  • Ability to play full HD content from USB drive. (My current TV is not able to play full HD vid, there is no sound, some codec issue)
  • Essential codec support.
  • Strict budget of max 50k :(

I have considered 3 TV's so far :

  1. Samsung 101.6cm (40") F5000 USB Movie Full HD LED TV - 51k
  2. LG 42LN5400 LED TV (41.9") with MHL - 48k
  3. LG 42LN5120 LED TV (41.9") - 47k

All prices from Pune, Maharashtra

Please suggest if these are VFM (any comments from existing owners will be great), also suggest if you think there are better TV's fitting my req from other leading brands.

Thanks,
Gaurav[DOUBLEPOST=1395660629][/DOUBLEPOST]Anyone ?

I was recently hunting for a TV with simile requirements plus added budget restrictions (below 40K) after long research finalized 2 options
Micromax 39K20FHD and Videocon Miraage Plus VKC40FH-ZM , after actually seeing these two in action at Vijay Sales Baner finalized Videocon as MMX had a little yellow tint, after testing for almost 2 months now have to say i am not disappointed with my decision. All channels (SD) look good; viewing angle is great ; contrast is good; has HDMI Ver. 1.3; tried couple of HD movies (YIFY / PublicHD if you know what i mean:p) through USB and had no issues, have a LG BP340 BD player which is DLNA complaint and plays almost all video formats including FLV so did not bother to check what video formats it supports as its wall mounted so plugging USB in the back is divine task :wideyed: . only 1 drawback is it has puny 8 Watt x 2 speakers which may not be a good if you have a bigger room and/or are a BASS lover like me :singing: any ways hooked a Philips Thunder IN-MMS6000F and now everything is peachy.

Again this is my personal experience and chose this setup as 4K range is just out of my reach (at least now:hungover:) also you cant compare this TV with any Sony/Samsung/LG counterparts, you asked for VFM so just throwing in my 2 cents.

Hope it helps .

Remove Lg from your list as it cannot play DTS Audio
Even Toshiba Cricket Series cannot decode DTS.
So far only samsung and sony can play all formats. They both have got all the licence required.
Currently Samsung Joy Plus Series is doing very well
Dont buy the F series its outdated buy the new H series (Joy Plus) :D
