Hello all,

My buddy has just left for the US and is looking to buy a *huge* HD to hook up to his qnap 109 (don't ask which one). He's currently looking at the Seagate 750's -

1. Newegg.com - Seagate SV35.3 ST3750330SV 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

OR

2. Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda ES.2 ST3750330NS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives
He looked at a coupla WD's as well, but I guess wasn't too happy with some of the negative reviews he read. No, he doesn't want the WD 640 - 750 or 1TB only.

From the above two HD's listed, which one would you guys recommend. He only needs it for storing vast amounts of multimedia - movies, games, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Cant remember the link, but recently read that Samsung 1TB (but for media/surveillance) "Green Power" drives cost-per-GB has come down to levels of 500/750GB...

So why not also consider 1TB models if the price-per-GB is as good? I guess I will add a 1TB to my existing 500GB soon... got it just 1.5 months ago and already getting full :p

ummm, i own a seagate 500gb ST3500320AS model which is very good, for others, i guess you should read other threads or search online for reviews/prices...
