Graphic Cards 8800gt crashing

i was playing grid for like 20 min in my bros house using a 8800gt msi oc version which i had sold to him a month back.the game keeps crashing and this is happening in assasins creed and other games.the card is getting heated like hell so i am ready to buy him a zalman cooler .few questions
1 >will it void warranty??
2>its 2000 bucks here is it worth ???

First you need to find out why the card is heating... is it the ambient temp or poor air flow in cabbie? Is the fan of the card is dead?

Only then something can be done

its a known issue.. check my thread and u will get all the info neede regarding the sour relationship between GRID and 8800GT :|

^^Yeh, its a quite known issue only with GRID.. over 80 degres game crashes still don't know any solution yet..

I forgot to mention in the earlier thread. I am using 174.74 for GRID, it doesn't crash. Try that version and see.

Surprisingly no one asked the OP for rig specs and the psu and driver details etc?
