A geek's delight at around 55K?

Dell studio 15 sold in the US give you an option of nearly 200 artistic designs .I saw only about a handful in the Indian site .

Are the other designs not available to Indian buyers ? I found none of the Indian designs catchy

@Its Strider

Yep, that's true.

But the older HP notebooks were quite reliable.

(I still use an Omnibook 6100)

@mahesh verma

I didn't say anything about getting it from the US.

Moreover, $1200 is the base price. Configure it and the price surges in a flash.

@GrimReaper

Yep, only a handful. There are some decent ones though.

I personally liked "X" the best.

Anyways, the order was placed yesterday. :)

Studio 15: i5-520 + 15.6" FullHD + 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz + HD5470 1GB + 320GB 7.2K RPM

Total = 60.4K + Delivery = 61K (N:( discounts)

^ Expensive.. why'd you opt for the HD5470? Will you be gaming on it as well?? Moreover, is HD5470 capable of decent gaming?

I guess he ordered with 3 yrs complete cover. That itself costs Rs.8,300
As of now all Studio15 models comes with 1GB HD5470 GPU.

Check this out. The HD5470 is slightly better than HD4570. But why the hell is dell not having a option for HD5650 :mad:
It will put off budget gamers from buying a dell. At least they should give the user an option. Similary they didnt have an option for HD4650. Disappointing :no:

3 Years Hardware Warranty :(

Most sensible choice in the Studio 15 lineup.

New features over the 4XXX series, less heat, less power consuming.

is HD5470 capable of decent gaming?

Yes, but I won't be gaming much on it.

(Games like Crysis are playable on low, others on med and high accordingly)

True. Limited options.

It will put off budget gamers from buying a dell.

Yeah, they would be better off with Acer notebooks
