About Certifications

Hi friends
i thought i could gain some gyaan from you people regarding different certifications like
ccna,ccnp,mcp,java certifications et al

i am doing be(cse) now and am contemplating doing one of these
but i now basically have a lot of doubts like:

1)how to decide what certificatn to take? :huh:

2)how easy or tough are they?

3)their use after i finish be in either job market or wrt MS

4)training centers,books and cost

5)how long to prep etc..

Basically i hae lot of doubts and i would gladly appreciate and rep any one who guides me :)

I know about Java certifications. So would answer your questions with respect to Java certs.

1. It's your wish where you wanna go. Like deciding whether to take up humanities or commerce or science.

2. It depends on your level of pepration. Though I have heard Cisco and Java certs are a bit though. Java more so because Sun only allows a select few prometric centers to administer the test.

3. I guess coupled with experience they would be great without it you would get an edge.

4. Websites(forums etc.) and books were study sources.

5. Depends on how you study.

I would say the best the thing is that you would gain a lot of info when you prepare for the certification.
