Google started testing improved search which included user's Gmail results in Google web search . Now Google has taken a step further in the trial and started including search results user's calendar and Google Drive as well.
The trial is currently limited to a number of participants . Users who wish to join the trail can visit this page and click the "Join the field trial" button . Once the account is ready with the new features , they will get an email confirmation .
Participants will notice instant-search feel and once they start typing search query in the Google search , mails matching the searched query will also start appearing below the search bar , not only e-mails , now documents like spreadsheets, presentations etc from user's Google Drive account and results from Google Calendar will also appear .
While some users may find this personal search feature very useful , it has raised some privacy concerns, as others on a shared PC may see logged-in users mails and content, also if user is not alone and searches then someone sitting near could see his personal data.
So, if the feature becomes open to all users in the fututure, it is likely to remain opt-in type only.
