Less than 10K Android Big screen phone for only streaming and offline video watching

raksrules

Elite
1. Budget?
A: Cheapest (but ideally under 10K)

2. Preferred display size, type and resolution?
A: Big screen for video watching, FHD preferred

3. Preferred operating system? (Android (with version), iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: Android

4. Preferred connectivity options? (4G, 3G, 2G etc).
A: Don't care

5. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: Doesn't matter (screen needs to be nice as primary use is video watching)

6. What is your intended use for this phone (internet, camera, multimedia, mails etc.)?
A: Offline Video watching, online streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime and other Indian streaming apps like hotstar etc and 3rd party streaming apps. VPN will also be used for certain streaming needs. Needs all sort of DRM (like L1 or whatever others so apps like Tata sky or netflix or prime video all work in full hd).

7. Single SIM/ Dual SIM?
A: Doesn't matter, phone will mostly be used without SIM Card, Wifi at home, airplane mode outside home.

8. New or Used? Online or Offline?
A: New - Online (flipkart or amazon)

9. Any other requirements?
A: Nice long battery life for video watching

10. If you have already considered a phone, then please mention the model
Samsung Galaxy M10 (cheapest one from that 2GB/16Gb I think)

Other Things:
The phone will be a device only for streaming videos or offline video watching. I know some people may suggest tablet but I don't want that since most 7 inch tablets will have huge bezels making the device even bigger. I don't want an attention seeking device for when I use it in public places (like office bus). Instead, I want one of the new phones where the screen occupies almost entire body of the phone and even small size phones have like 6.2 Inch screens which I find awesome (never seen in person any such phone). I do require phone to have L1 DRM as I use some streaming apps which only plays certain streams if the device has L1 DRM and also want to make sure Netflix/Amazon Prime plays at highest resolution (I know people will tell FHD video on 6.2 inch phone screen may be worthless but the clarity does increase so I would like that).
I don't have a budget but I want to buy a cheap phone but for which I can buy a sturdy case and tempered glass screen protector. I have almost no knowledge about android phones currently, I haven't been keeping tab on them and always use iPhone.
Basically, want a big screen phone in small form factory (I think I mean here more (or less?) screen body ratio).
If you think there is going to be some good deal this prime day on amazon India, let me know so I can order.

vivo Z1 - recently launched - ~15k. Ticks all your boxes.

Call me cheap but 15K is higher for the purpose for which I am buying this phone. I am looking for something under 10,000. Does anyone know how is redmi note 7 and does it have the L1 certification? I read somewhere initially it didn't have but later with an update It got it but not sure if that is applicable to Indian version of the phone.

Edit: seems the redmi note 7s checks all boxes

The Samsung M10 or M20 fits your budget. Both advertise L1 certification prominently.

Yes I am considering those. For regular video watching usage, does the TFT vs LCD IPD screen make any difference? The 8K price of M10 is promising too.

Edit: Searched a bit and it the LPS TFT or whatever it is called is samsung's version of IPS LCD. Whatever that means.

Both Samsung series' M- & A- have reported lag in interface. Most complaints are about that issue.

Mi is ignoring calls for L1 certification, probabbly they feel those making that noise are too small compared with the total number who buy seeking only Value.
