PC Peripherals Another Sub-30K Rig

Hey guys,
Im going to be building a PC for a friend. The following is the config. i intend to go with for now:-
Processor: Intel C2D E7400 2.8ghz =5,500 INR
Motherboard: Gigabyte P31 ES3G =2,900 INR
Cabinet: NZXT Apollo w/ Transparent side panel =2,900 INR
GPU: Palit Radeon HD 4850 =8,000 INR
Memory: Gskill Pi Black DDR2 RAM 800Mhz 2x2GB 4-4-4-12 timings =3,600 INR
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB Single Platter =3,000 INR
PSU/SMPS: Corsair VX450/Tagan TGU37 500 =4,000/3,500 INR

CPU Cooler: Thermaright Ultima 90 =2,000 INR
22X LG DVD-RW drive @ 1.1K
----------------------------
The prices have been purposely kept a bit on the higher side to allow for a buffer. Budget for the Rig is about 25k, can be stretched to about 30k, but only 25k worth of components will be bought initially. Budget is excluding display/monitor.
Pretty much decided on most of the build, just a bit confused about the following:-

1)Mobo: People suggest going for a P31 based mobo over G31(the GA G31M ES2L was, my initial choice). Aside from the support for faster memory, i really don't see much point. The GA G31M ES2L particularly seems to be loaded with features, and from what i've heared, OC's quite well. On the other hand, fewer people have the P31 board mentioned above. So i was wondering if there is any real advantage in going with the P31.
If there are other suggestions for a board under 4k, it's most welcome.

2)CPU: Pretty much set on the E7400, but i may go with the E5200 depending on the situation/how much money is available when i go to buy the stuff. I think either is a good choice, any comments?

3)Suggestions on the rest of the build are also welcome. Any general tips you guys might have would be sweet.
Thanks to everyone in advance :)

Yes, i mentioned that i had purposely quoted prices on the higher side.
Im fine with AMD but my friend wants an Intel only build. Nevertheless, if you have a good setup in the above budget, do post, AMD or otherwise...

First of all E7400 is a great choice , @ same clocks E8xxx and E7xxx series perform very similar to each other . Cache make less than 5 - 10 % difference .

Regarding mobo - G31-S2L is a great motherboard , other than being Micro-Atx (which some people may not find good) it is the best VFM out there . Just to prove that fact check OC by apollyon :O

Radeon HD4850 - Again very good buy , will run most of the games @ high settings , however be aware that in US HD4850 prices are going down real fast.

Memory: Gskill Pi Black DDR2 RAM 800Mhz 2x2GB 4-4-4-12 timings =3,600 INR - Excellent , very recommended can do 1000 Mhz @ 5-5-5-15

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB Single Platter =3,000 INR - Again good buy !
PSU/SMPS: Corsair VX450/Tagan TGU37 500 =4,000/3,500 INR - Vx450 ftw!

If you plan on serious OC'ing , try getting Vendetta 2 from Rahul via ebay for Rs 2450 Shipped (using coupons) . It's almost as good as TRUE if not better .

Here you go with AMD

Processor: Amd Phenom II x3 720 BE = 8k INR
Motherboard: Biostar 790GX 128MB sideport = 5.5 k INR/
Motherboard Gigabyte 780G - 4k
Cabinet: NZXT Apollo w/ Transparent side panel =2,900 INR/
Cabinet: Bijli - 1k
GPU: Palit Radeon HD 4850 =8,000 INR
Memory: Gskill Pi Black DDR2 RAM 800Mhz 2x2GB 4-4-4-12 timings =3,600 INR
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB Single Platter =3,000 INR
PSU/SMPS: Tagan TGU37 500 = 3,500 INR
CPU Cooler: Thermaright Ultima 90 =2,000 INR (optional)
22X LG DVD-RW drive @ 1.1K

with Gigabyte mobo and Bijli cabinet without Thermaright = 31k.

It will serve 2 years down the line and its will be high end gaming rig

Thanks for the suggestions.
Does it make any sense waiting till next month to buy? (price cuts and new launches)

^ Thanks, that makes me feel a bit relieved :D
The price cuts are one thing, but the E7500 is going to be out taking the place of the E7400 like it did of the E7300 before it, and im guessing will retail for mostly the same price, maybe 500 odd more....
Anyway, there's probably no sense waiting, so...
