Anyone coming from Bangalore to Delhi

Hi folks,need help.

I need to get books from a Friend in Bangalore,they weigh around 7 kilo to 8 kilos. Shipping is costing like 5k.
If anyone is coming,i will be gracious if he can bring those books along.
Or guide me with a cheaper shipping rate to Delhi or Chandigarh.

You could ask your friend to pack the books in a cardboard box and send by some lorry service or through Indian railways parcel booking. You can check the parcel rates here: http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/railwayboard/view_section.jsp?lang=0&id=0,6,335
In case of both options, the lorry receipt or the receipt from the railways has to be sent by post/courier to you, and you need to provide this original receipt at the destination counter and receive the same. Make sure the receipt is made in your name, so that you can provide an id proof when asked.
It might take a few days time, but both ways are very economical, and should definitely cost less than 1k. Given that the contents are just books, they can be transported safely too.
