Hi

I am having major problems of late with my Asus RT-N14U.

The WAN disconnects abruptly.

For the past 10 days or so I have been facing this problem. Firmware has been updated to the latest (problem started before the FW update). So now I have disconnected the Router and feed the Pacenet Broadband connection directly to the PC.

Has anyone else faced this problem ? Is it a hardware issue ? Do I need to junk this pricey router .... I am frustrated

Earlier thread https://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/wi-fi-router-for-pacenet-broadband.147541/page-3

Still a few weeks are left - warranty ?

I googled and found the same problem with N56U - https://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/issues/detail?id=23

But the above discussion is too heady for me to figure out a solution (maybe I need to be more patient and check it at leisure).

@Crazy_Eddy ; @blr_p

WHY isn't the N14U on the DD-WRT database (No support ..... sigh)

Help

Terry

Edit: Apols - I just noticed another recent thread (same problem) - BUT N13U https://www.techenclave.com/communi...ing-from-the-internet-every-few-hours.172442/

The N14u uses a mediatek chipset. I think DD-WRT is mostly geared to atheros, ralink and broadcom chipsets.

Is your connection stable when directly connected to the PC?

I assume the form of connection is via Ethernet. How long is the ethernet cable between your router/pc and pacenet's router/switch?

Thanks @Crazy_Eddy & apols I could not revert back asap.

Problem resolved. I did a hard-reset ...... Now hopefully with the new firmware things should be stable.

Incidently - connection is stable when I connect directly to PC. Router to PC cable length is 1 meter.

Thanks bro
