Hi guys,

Similar questions might have been asked before, and I'm sorry if that is the case. But any info would be appreciated.

A friend (a western woman) is planning a back-packing trip in India.

Plan is to arrive at Delhi in mid-December for 3-4 weeks. (Return from Delhi as well, most probably)

Do you have any places you could suggest for a visit (including Varanasi, Agra, Amritsar, Jaipur and Meerut). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Requirements : SAFETY and FRUGALITY. :)

Thanks!

Better recommend BCMtouring or Indiamike to to her..
Both the places are full of such queries with proper info.

However, dont mention the other forum on either on them! :D

depends on what kind of trip she is looking at.

historical , trekking, leisure exploring etc ...

delhi, agra, jaipur, amritsar are common places. she can look at varanasi, haridwar, dharamshala, mcleodganj etc.

remember, it will be quite cold December onwards so need to keep that in mind.

Being a himachali that too from dharamshala I will recommend her dharamshala, mcleodganj, khajiyar, ranthambore, chamba.

Like "puns" said, it depends on what she is looking for. Usually they have a bedouin fondness for places like rajasthan and other similar nomadic regions in india.

@niteshkhatri, puns, malefic : Thanks!

@adi_vastava : I have absolutely no idea. :|

@vb86 : 'all over' meaning :s

@kippu : ahem. Yours truly might join.

@chiron: LoL

@nukeu666: Thats backup plan :p

I'll not recommend Varanasi....worst roads,worst people,worst sites :(

I don't know whether foreigners like in here but that^^is what i feel is on their mind when they are here .
