Budget 31-40k Budget PC for gaming (CS GO and Dota 2 only)

Hi. I'll be building my first PC over the course of the next month (always been using laptops before) and I am overwhelmed by the amount of information I have tried to read up on. I have literally no knowledge about comparing components and will be helped by a friend when assembling the PC.

I'd be very grateful if you guys could help me with deciding what parts to consider.

Questions

  1. What is your budget?
    • 40K
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • None
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • Intelli 1.1a and a generic usb keyboard
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Intel Skylake i3, preferably?
    • Motherboard - any compatible motherboard
    • GPU - Here's where I need the most help
    • PSU - Just as much here as well
    • RAM - 8 gb dual channel 2133 MHz
    • SSD - I think this is unnecessary
    • Monitor - a 22 inch panel, depends on budget left over
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • Probably will not be upgrading anytime in the near future
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
    • Bangalore
    • Open to online purchases
  7. Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • No (might be convinced otherwise)
  8. What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
    • Gaming
    • Watching HD movies
  9. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.
    • None
  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • CS GO - 1280x720, a minimum of 120 fps capped, anything above is golden.
    • Dota 2 - prefer 1920x1080, but 90-100 fps is higher priority
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Gaming - As mentioned above
    2. Desktop - 1920x1080
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • Sure, if the budget allows for it
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Win 7/10
Thanks

I am not sure what graphic card will get you the fps you wanted. The games you want to play doesn't seem will need more expensive cards. 750Ti should be sufficient. Let's see what people suggest you. With your budget, Haswell Pentium will fit (with 750Ti, 21.5" monitor, PSU from Tier 3 or above). Anything higher, you will have to shell out more from your pocket. You may squeeze Skylake Pentium in this budget by compromising on PSU which I don't think is a wise choice.

Graphic card is the deciding factor here which will define whether you can go for Haswell or Skylake.

Amazon has an i3 6100 at 9.1k, while the 41xx series are all in 8k range. The i3 6300 is at a whopping 14k, though. Is it really that big of a performance jump?

Should I go ahead and order the 6100 right away?

Difference between, 6100 and 6300 is 100MHz more frequency and 1MB more cache memory. IIRC, i5-6500 goes near 15K mark. So if you are looking at i3-6300; better just order i5-6500.

Honestly, I don't even know what I am looking for right now. The i5-6500 makes sense at that price point, but is it necessary for my needs? Will the i3-6100 suffice?

As @nac mentioned above, I'll probably be sticking to the 750Ti, so I'm hoping the i3 CPU will be enough for that.

For 40k budget, I doubt you can fit in a i5 6th gen. Coming to ability to play CS:GO and Dota, I think Intel 530 coming with 6th gen i3 will be enough; check this YouTube link

i3-6100 ~9000
Asus H110M-K 32GB DDR4 ~5800
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 RAM ~3000
Seasonic S12II 430 ~4500
WD 1TB Blue ~3700
Dell S2216H ~9000
Corsair Spec-01 or 100R ~3500

This totals to nearly 38.5K. You can add keyboard mouse of your preference.

Wow, I didn't expect that from an onboard GPU. Neither did I expect 40k will be this much of a bottleneck.

I like that build, but I'm still not entirely convinced about going without a GPU. I'm sorted on the peripherals, though. I should mention that in the 1st post. If I go for a cheaper monitor and a run-of-the-mill cabinet, will I be able to fit a decent GPU into the budget? Maybe add another 3-4k in the budget too?

Going with cheaper monitor would save you approx 1500. and you would loose out on HDMI input. A GTX 750Ti would set you back by minimum 9000. This means final cost near 46k.

Cutting down on cabinet would save you another 2k.

I think this build will fit into my budget pretty well. And it fits in the CPU too. I'll add an el cheapo usb WLAN adapter, should round out the build. Thanks.

I'll stay with the Dell monitor then, HDMI input gets priority. In the above build, do you see any shortcomings?

Go for a cheaper mobo like MSI Pro VH. It has enough ports too. USB 3.1 also present

Look for prices on Theitwares.com they are the cheapest overall I could find. You will save like Rs 200 -400 on each one. Mdcomputers.in are also cheap but it's not free shipping

Mod Edit: Please avoid SMS lingo

Yes. Theitwares are even cheaper than Primeabgb. I think they will ship it to Bangalore but he should probably buy it from a local shop so that he can go there if anything goes wrong. If you search enough, you'll find a shop with prices closer to or even less than theitwares.

Thanks a lot, everyone. You guys have been an immense help.

Once the build is finalized, I'll look at the prices in stores here before deciding where to buy from.
