@D.Payne:

1. You want 2 monitors in that budget..?

2. Would you not need a PRO-series GPU for your type of work.

I guess any mid-range computer(good processor ++) will do the job. No need of any extra GFX, 785G chipset would be sufficient for almost anything except gaming. but for a dual monitor setup you would need an entry level GFX card.

@Joseph: Stick to Karthi's suggestion. The 2209WA is worth its salt.

Thanks!

A few things:

- A pro GPU really isn't necessary for 2D work. There will be NO 3D/rendering work on this computer anytime.
- The AMD X4 II is a quad-core but it also has very very less on-chip cache (2MB IIRC). My current dual-core iC2D E8200 has 6MB, and I believe this makes a huge difference in Photoshop.
- The Dell 2209WA is exactly what I am looking for - thanks!
- An entry-level GFX card will/should be part of this config anyway

Any suggestions now that we have 3-5k more on the CPU part?

Thanks!
Payne

PS: Dual monitors are not necessary - at this stage. :)
