Firstly you don't need to upgrade . Your current Q6600 is more than enough. Just buy a new SMPS, GFX, Cabinet . Then you are done . Still since you insisted

Components Model Description Price (INR)

CPU Intel Core i5 750 9800

Mobo Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 6800

RAM 4(2*2GB) 1333MHz Corsair DDRIII RAM 6800

HDD WD 1TB Black 5500

GPU Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 9800

Cabinet CM 590 3900

PSU/SMPS Corsair HX 750 8600

Total 50200

I will repeat again , you don't need to upgrade your CPU

Only SMPS , GFX , Cabinet needs upgrading

Agreed with Anubis, OC the Q6600 to about 3GHz, it has more balls to run for another one or one and half years...

Then u can invest on the following:-

Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 @ 15.8k

Corsair HX750W @ 8.6k

CM 690 Centurion @ 4.4k

WD 1TB Black @ 4.6k

Exactly what I said

Sapphire HD5870 1GB GDDR5 - 22.9k
Corsair HX750W - 8.6k
CM 590 - 3.9k
WD 1TB Black - 5.5k

Thank you Anubis and comp@ddict,

My mobo does not do cold boot at all but once on runs forever untill restart. This problem its all over internet forums with Asus P5k boards and Asus has no proper solution for it other than clearing CMOS.
(Some say PSU issue some say RAM issue, some say MB forgets the setting n failed falsely fails OC etc)
I changed my RAM from 1GbX2Gskill DDR 2 800 to 2GbX2Transcend DDR II 667. Performance took hit.
Its out of warranty so dont know month long repair will do any good.

Was really fed up with this issue.

If I decide to keep my q6600 then please suggest me a motherboard to go that will run processor stable @ 3ghz and will Run my RAM
G skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ DDR2-800 PC2 6400 / 2GB(1GB x 2)
CL 4-4-4-12 2.0 ~ 2.1 Volts

I guess that would be P45 based board.
q6600@3ghz or more on some P45 MB
Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 @ 15.8k
Corsair HX750W - 8.6k
CM 690 Centurion @ 4.4k
WD 1TB Black @ 4.6k
Total = 33.6 Plus Mobo

How does this config compare in performance with Core i5 750 G on igabyte GA-P55M-UD2 running RAM 4(2*2GB) 1333MHz Corsair DDRIII RAM at 50,000/
-
Should I also invest in a CPU cooler so that I run q6600 at say 3.4Ghz (my processor is G0 stepping)? Which one?

^^

The board I have is a good P45 for OC'ing. You can see my specifications, and it is stable.

As others have mentioned, no need to move up, you have a good processor, mated with a good GPU -- you can rock for the next 1.5 years. Ok, you miss out the Dx11, but that is yet to mature. You would need a good OEM HSF. If you can OC that quad high - up, you would not be that far away from the 50K rig, you mentioned in the last line.

Good to hear that q6600@3ghz matches up.
Hear MSI P45 Platinum costs or is it less
# MSI P45 Platinum – Rs. 9,000/-
# MSI P45 Platinum zilent – Rs. 9,500/-

How about warranty and support? Cold boot issues if any?
Is gigabyte P45 option cheaper?

Dont invest 9k in a P45 mobo now
Max invest 4k~ on a LGA-775 socket now. If you are gonna buy a 9k P45 mobo then instead of that you can move on to i5-750+P-55 mobo for 16k~

Core i-5 750 9.8k
Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 7.7k
Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 9.8k
4(2*2GB) 1333MHz Corsair DDRIII RAM 6.8k
Corsair VX550 4.9K
LanCool DragonLord PC-K56W 4.5k
1 TB WD Black 5.4k
TOTAL ~ 48.9K :)

Hi Darkangel
i5-750+P55 for 16k is better I think I will change mobo and keep old system as backup and get a new one for 50k. Will cut down a bit on graphics card.

anyways suggest me a 4k~ board LGA 775 that can OC q6600 @ 3Ghz stable.
