Last time i shipped 300R from Coimbatore to Baroda, they charged me 568/- with insurance of 5k. And recently i purchased an Altec MX 5021 from forum member who shipped it from Kolkotta, the volumetric weight was 40kg and charges were 1439/- incl of insurance of 3500/-.

Insurance is done on invoice value, right? OP doesn't have an invoice.

No invoice copy not required at all. I never used invoice for shipping 300r to baroda.
