Couch Co-op Game Recommendations

Hello!

I am looking for some decent co-op games that I could play with my pals / girlfriend. I am looking for local / couch co-op with a shared screen. (Split screen is no fun).

For those of you, who are also looking for the same, I thoroughly enjoyed these titles

  1. The Lara Croft series (Crystal Dynamics | Square Enix),
  2. Guacamelee
  3. Never Alone
  4. Guns Gore and Canoli
  5. Trine series
Of all these, we have most enjoyed the Lara Croft series.

I am planning to try Left 4 Dead 2. I did not greatly enjoy broforce. I am looking for games with decent graphics (the kind of ones above will be just fine) and some fun elements. Even if it is mindless shootings that can be enjoyed (with cheats and trainers), I am up for suggestions.

Also, my PC isn't really up for the top of the line games. Intel i5 (6th Gen 2.7Ghz), 16 Gigs of Ram (2400mhz), R9 270 Gfx card (for the time being).

I am waiting for suggestions! Thanks a lot mates!

It's easy to mod in.

If you're looking for more party like games then I find Gang Beasts to be loads of fun for like 30 minute sessions. Unreal Tournament 3 also has easy modded in multiscreen support so you should try that.

Rocket League
Portal 2
LEGO Star Wars/pretty much any LEGO series
Factorio

Those are games I love to play on the couch with someone else. I also use emulators when we wish to play some other games.

Any pointers as to where I could find the mod. I am hoping, it is not split screen.

I have just chanced upon Sacred Citadel. Seems to be a fun way to pass time. I have been eying borderlands, and many of the steam games that are on the co-op fliter are not entirely to my liking. The ones that are good, they are already up there on the list.

I did not know the couch co-op could be modded in. I was looking at border lands. Thanks for the information. I will see if I could get some. Next-up on the list would be Left4Dead 2. Will also look at Borderlands.

Maybe you could also look at the games I have mentioned if you have not already.

The modded local coop will still be split screen and not shared screen. If you are up for split screen it is great fun in coop.

I guess I will have to use the infinity screen mode from AMD and use my dual monitor setup as split screen. Let's see how that goes.

Overcooked is a really fun game to play with your SO and friends.

Overcooked looks good. Let's see how it goes.

Thank you for all the suggestions! If there is any other game you can recommend, please do let me know, I will be delighted!

Wow. It's been awhile for me on this forum. Hi guys! : D

I've found some easy, pick up and play and less frustrating games for my girlfriend and me to play. These games don't use the right analog stick so buttons can be mashed extensively. All games tested... no controllers were destroyed while playing the following games -

1. Castle Crashers (The best couch co-op game ever, IMO)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/204360/
2. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (the most fun party game ever, especially if people are drinking)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/341800/
3. Death Road To Canada (SO and I make our own characters in the game and even create our friends who we will randomly meet along the journey to Canada. Cheap deaths are hilarious. Catchy music.)

4. Mother Russia Bleeds (Devolver Digital)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/361300/
5. Gauntlet - Slayer Edition (Lots of fun in co-op and easy to play. Many hours!)

6. BattleBlock Theater (Puzzle co-op from the people that made Castle Crashers)

Hope this list helps!

I did search so much while I brought my ps3 for nephews and JB it. I am just into PS3 gaming so don`t know much about PC but following site should help you get more games to play on single single screen,

http://www.co-optimus.com/system/24/xbox-one.html

Change your search for PC, sort by user rating.

My finding and best liked by nephews were as follows,

1. Rayman Legends (All)
2. Scott Pilgrim Vs world
3. Little Big Planet (All)
4. Resident Evil 5
6. WWE
7. Castle Crashers
8. Vitua Tennis

Thanks vagabond! I am a regular on co-optimus. I was looking for suggestions based on the games that I have already played. :D. I like exploration, and strategy sort of games more. So if you have any particular recommendations, please do let me know. I would be delighted.

Hmmmm no one mentioning Guacamelee, Shank and Bionic Commando among the modern 2D couch co op. There's also Double Dragon Neon.

Best thing to do though is get NES, SNES and SEGA Genesis emulator and play classics like Contra, TMNT etc.

From the video preview,

Looks like Castle Crashers is going to be exactly the campy sort of fun that I am looking for. Will try this game as soon as time permits. The others seem decent too. Thanks a lot for this mate!!
