CS Vs IS/IT

You passed out like 1 yr ago and you donno the subs bugger, there is no advanced MP lab :p

they just have advanced mp theory, in place of File structures(which is also equally interesting) for IS people.

I haven't seen any company give preference to CS people over IS branch yet, infact in most colls CS branches will be flooded with Management quota dumbasses who pay like 10-12lak per seat, and eventually that sees IS doing better in placements(its true:p)

If you are talking VTU there is hardly any difference/advantage if you do CS instead of IS.
 
hehee... no linkups whatever. hated that subj to the core.

anyway.. whichever stream you come from, all you need to do is pay attention during the training days. ive known ppl who dont know the 'c' 'o' 'm' 'p' of comp's getting into the it field and doing well. its all about how you can apply yourself. and no im not talking about the few exceptional cases. this is the rule rather than not. if you wanna make a career in the it field, all you need is perseverance+attitude. if you WANT to last, you WILL.

and in case you DONT wanna get into the generic IT industry at the end of your education the better thing to do would be to go in for a CS degree. Not that the faculty is going to make a difference, since you already know that you aint gonna get into the IT industry, you'll have to take it upon yourself teach yourself enough to survive in non-generic-IT computing...
