sorry to sound a bit dumb but will it work on a 1066 MHz slot ?

i am no expert.

AFAIK 1333mhz ram will work by automatically downclocking to 1066mhz.(but no mixing of RAM.both or all slots must contain 1333mhz)(you cannot put 1 -1066mhz and 1-1333mhz together).

ALSO,YOUR PROCESSOR MUST SUPPORT 1333Mhz RAM SPEED.>>to RUN in 1333Mhz.(correct me if m wrong)(without overclocking)

1600mhz ram work fine on 1333mhz.(for me)

never tried 1333mhz on 1066mhz.so please confirm it from some expert before purchasing.

You raise quite a few questions thrown into one big one :smileyhappy:
First off, ever since the Core i seris mobile CPU's, all have the memory controller located as part of the CPU itself, it's on-die so to speak.
Given the above you won't find supported memory specifications on HM55 or any other Core i mobile chipsets (northbridges) simply due to the fact that they no longer feature a memory controller.
In as far as can PC3-10600 1333MHz RAM be used in a laptop likely support PC3-8500 1066MHz RAM then the answer is yes. JEDEC develops memory standards to be backward compatible with each other.
Moving onto dual channel. If your laptop shipped with 2x 2GB SODIMM's then it's already running in synchronus dual channel mode. Now, I believe your laptop only has two memory slots. Consequently, for you to upgrade to 8GB in total you must first remove what you already have and then buy 2x 4GB PC3-8500 SODIMM's.
