Why do you need 60 odd GB's in a month that too on a Wireless connection? You've got a Wired connection for that.. Download Terabytes of data.

Its been a tiresome experience i should say, using 4G data on a Smartphone! Its crap anywhere on Airtel, Idea or Jio. Speeds don't cross 5-6mbps during Peak, 12:00hrs - 20:00hrs. Even 3CA support doesn't help much (on Jio!) excepts nights (while on Wi-Fi at home!)

What's the point of offering 60, 120 GB's (.. Or whatever!) ?? Why do you need more than 1GB per day? or even 20GB per month?

Some Jobless retards are just choking networks (P2P and Porn) using that cheap data and taking advantage of unnecessary allocations causing Trouble for others.. resulting in Terrible experience!

Jio folks say the tower load is less than 20% , Then why are we facing problems?

Jio has been hard seller forcing others to sell at steep low prices and spoiling the experience. You guys can charge 300rupees per month (30 days) and offer Unlimited calls and 20GB data (Not enough?) or else with 1GB/day limit for the more greedy!

  • ₹300/month (₹300 - 18% GST = ₹246; Voice Calls - ₹100; Data - ₹146 (20GB/mo - ₹7.3/GB or 1GB/day throttle - ₹ 4.86/GB for Telecos) .. Isn't it really decent tariff.. Want even more data.. Pay More!!

Dear Indian Telecom operators, Its time to leave the cheap tariff thing and start offering decent 4G LTE experience!

The average 4G LTE data speed in India has remained static for more than a year — at about 6.1Mbps — which is almost a third of the global average of about 17 Mbps, making it among the slowest countries on this metric.

India’s 4G download speeds are even slower than that of neighbours Sri Lanka (13.95 Mbps), Pakistan (13.56 Mbps) and Myanmar (15.56 Mbps) .. Shame!

I have tried Jio/Airtel/Vodafone..
In Bangalore, at my home none of them give speeds to even a watch a youtube video. At my work, airtel & vodafone work ok-ish and I get 6~7 mbps speeds depending on the network's mood.
As a result of this, I can consume hardly 100MB per day in my vodafone daily 1.5GB pack. My Airtel has been keep on adding the data roll over and I have around 40GB unused balance now.

IMO 10GB/month is more than enough if one has a wired connection at home.
I too feel that they should start improving the quality rather than trying to stuff more data down our throats.

I was going to start a thread on a related subject earlier but didn't get time. The long and short of it is India presently has the lowest revenue as far as operator goes in the world. Less than China even.

Does not imply cheapest but that is the result of a pricing war currently at play between Jio and the rest. Prices have dropped since Jio entered the fray. 82 days at 2GB/day from airtel was unheard of earlier. 4G does not work as well as 3G so i spend more time on 3G

I got 180gb of Vodafone data lying uselessly unused as it is not even capable of running on good speeds even on 2g.
WhatsApp basic small images take 6-10 seconds to load even on so called 4g.
On opposite side my docomo on Airtel network runs like F1 track even on 2g and 3g. Its shame and pity situation on Vodafone and idea at least.

I agree that 4G experience has gone down very drastically but

Why do I need more than 20GB per month?
Are you telling me how to live my life?

What about people who cant pay more than 150 bucks a month?
Is your experience more important than them having LTE access?

Recently my bb was down for almost a week and that's when I actually got the taste of 4G. (else I just use mobile net for Reddit/WA/FB at work)
In the evening, it was hard to get a speed above 250kbps in both my SIMs - Airtel and Jio. And the speed fluctuate a lot.
But later at night, I could see consistent 15mbps.

And bout unused data - lol. I have some 220GB in my Airtel number now.

I have been a Vodafone customer for 14 years now right from my first mobile after Class X.

My internet was down yesterday and I got a taste of Vodafone crapnet which failed to even touch 1 Mbps with a data balance of 180 GB or so.

Airtel was a bit better and Jio was much better. I was so frustrated yesterday that I raised a port request in Jio website. Will switch over to them tomorrow.

I have seen the speed issue with VF constantly but never bothered to switch because of my own lethargy and as all my heavy activities are done over broadband.

You are assuming everybody has a wired connection. Some people use wireless for all their internet requirement

During peak? I would be happy to have 5-6mbps on average.

average speed on 3G inside my home is 15KBps. Outside house, I get 4G or that is what it shows but speed is just 175KBps or around that. Haven't seen more than 2Mbps on 3/4G of Idea. Vodafone struggles just to connect to network due to cloud cover in my area. Most of the time its on 2G or says no network.

I'm thinking all this happened after the courts told the telecom companies to dial down the strength of the towers because people were complaining about cancer etc. Before that court ruling, I could get 5-10Mbps on 3G inside the house. Then year by year it got worse and I'm seeing KBps speeds now. Another issue could be because societies are putting up cement sheets on roofs of buildings which may be a factor in bouncing off most of the signals due to their wavy design.

Have spotted lesser density of towers in past a year. May be thats the direct impact on towers getting clogged and unable to handle those burdened requests esp. on data part.

I started facing all sorts of issues only since this March. As one fine day suddenly the 4g signal went nil & just 1 inside my house no matter I stay on top floor and even if I go outside in my vicinity. I still dont get 4g at all unless I walk 200 mtrs out of my area.:arghh:

I have been on a war with vodafone & just to retain me without providing any resolution they kept offering me end no. of premiums in terms of customized red plans for 50% rate, goodies etc and what not. :stop:
I just asked them one question: What's the use of all this if none of these is even working on the basic level?
Fed up they simply requested me to port to MH Vodafone zone to get a better and direct support or another network operator as they were literally done with me as they got no resolution in their directory to my ever growing pains!! This is the answer you expect from world class provider.:bag:

Well since yesterday I'm facing calling issues now. If I try to dial any no. it simply says Call Ended. And if somebody tries to dials me it just goes tuk tuk tuk.tuk tuk tuk.tuk tuk tuk.....forever.:wtf:

Changed 5 sim cards in last 15 months coupled with almost 70+ various apn setting changes with 500+ phone reboots and 10-12 phone changes within family friend and office peers and the issue just went getting worse!

I think if they can fix my no. issue they can fix any issue in the world!! :(

The only quite answer which I got is to port to another network!:banghead: They gave up, they lost the battle!!o_O

I'm literally considering to port to Airtel no matter its chortel but got no viable option coz you cannot argue Airtel has stood up all odds IMHO at least in my vicinity. So wont mind gambling on it. My top priority is to get a netowkr which works foolproof & not some jackass NULL big fuss brand with just smoke and no fire,

Also, my docomo wins all races on Airtel network against vodafone.

And you're still CONSIDERING to port....

BSNL is launching 4G on 2500Mhz before the end of this year. How many of you are planning to make a switch.

To be honest, I like their 3G speeds, Works better than Jio 4G at the moment. I'm switching to Second sim (BSNL 3G) when Jio sucks!

Does your phone support 2500Mhz (FDD-LTE) in the First place? :p

they should provide cheap hotspot devices.

Even I'm fed up with the current situation. I'm ready to spend 300 a month with 15 GB internet and some 7-8 hours calling, which is more than sufficient to me. But the problem is that, almost all the operators have pathetic network quality.

What a crap frequency, couldn't they have got something on a lower frequency!!!
