Laptops Dell Announces New Inspiron and Notebooks and Desktops

Dell today has unveiled its next generation of Inspiron laptops. The Inspiron 1420, 1520 and 1720 are all powered by Intel's new Santa Rosa platform while the Inspiron 1521 and 1721 have AMD processors under the hood.

Dell Inspiron 1520 and 1521

The Dell Inspiron 1520 is a 15.4" widescreen notebook powered by the Intel Santa Rosa platform. The Inspiron 1520 replaces the popular Inspiron e1505 notebook. Gone from the 1520 are the white bumpers that the Inspiron e1505 had though. Dell is sprucing things up by giving buyers the choice between 8-different colors for the lid. Ruby Red, Midnight Blue and Jet Black are just a few examples of choices you'll get.

Dell Inspiron 1720 and 1721

The Dell Inspiron 1720 is the larger brother of the Inspiron 1520. The 1720 sports a 17" widescreen display and comes with the same 8-color options as the 1520. The Inspiron 1720 of course has the new Intel Santa Rosa platform, while the Dell Inspiron 1721 has an AMD platform. The Inspiron 1720 specs are as follows:

The Dell Inspiron 1420 is the runt of the new Inspiron litter with its 14.1" widescreen display. But it's probably the perfect size for those that need to be able to carry a laptop around a lot. Following are the full specs:

in fact the Santa Rosa Latitudes are already available...
