Digital Camera buying advice

all makes have good entry level cameras under 10K .insist on a cam that have local support ,also decide on your prefered size, features, and special features depends on your requirement.Olympus & Fuji have decent entry cams, also from nikon, canon, panasonic too.

Yes as amd999 says, allmost all manufacturers make decent cameras nowadays in your price bracket. However manufacturers to look out for are Canon, Sony and Panasonic.

But generally the things to look out for are -

1. Wide angle lens : A 28mm or even 26mm is preferred.

2. LCD monitor : Bigger is better, 2.7" is the standard now.

3. Megapixels : Dont matter. This should be the last thing you should be concerned about.

4. Lens speed : Try to get a lens starting at f2.8 rather than f3.3 and higher.

5. Try before buying : Not always possible but Croma and few other outlets have many cameras on display and they allow you to use them and click photos.
