Hi all,
I made a blog post (a mini-review if you will) of DSL 2750u . I put it at http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com/2014/06/19/namebench-dsl-2750u/ . Now if some of you go through the blog post you would find that I found a few dual-band ADSL modem+router. While I had shared name and model number of one, there were quite a few and they are selling at a premium.

Now my query is this :-

What such dual-band modem+routers be good for ?

Looking on the web I came upon http://www.theguardian.com/technology/askjack/2012/jan/12/ask-jack-broadband-wi-fi-zip-drove

It seems mostly people use 5 Ghz wifi to avoid interference with others at 2.4 Ghz. While there are Wifi networks nearby to where I live, I *think* most of them would be having some sort of xDSL connection and the wifi router is meant to distribute both the speed and the contents on that network to their users. I do not know of any WiFi Internet connections which are at par with ADSL copper connections (or better). I did see BSNL's and they are pricey.

Perhaps I'm mis-informed about Wi-Fi internet connectivity. Looking forward to know what people have experienced.

Just to put in simple words.
2.4 Ghz - Regular browsing or downloading.
5.0 Ghz - Media streaming or Large file transfer.
Only drawback in 5.0 Ghz is you need to have devices that support 5 GHz.
