can anyone tell me if there is a way to sit on one comp in a network and issue commands like the normal dos ones to another comp on the network
and after the command gets executed on that comp the o/p must be passed back to the comp on which i issued it and displayed to me!

well the OS is XP and can anyone tell me the advantages of doing so what is the power of such operations and all what can we do etc.

is it possible to use remote desktop for the above purpose exactly and if so how?

btw repped you both!thanks

Remote desktop should work fine on xp.

Just follow these steps.

1.Right click My comp, then properties, remote, check both the boxes there.

2.Create an admin account on the pc u want to connect to

3.Go to remote desktop connection in start menu, accessories, communication.

4.Put in the ip address of the comp u want to connect to

5. Put in the username and pass of the admin account u just created.

Now just use the remote computer like as if u were sitting on it.

I haven't personally tried out remote desktop with a limited user account, but I think it should be possible. But remember you have to create an account.

You can do anything if you know the pass. Check out Remote Desktop. You need to enable it one the m/c that you want to access. Also the network speed should be good. Thanks for the Rep :)
