err can u give more info on the zebby PSU ??..how much is the 12v rail ?

will it handle P4+2GB RAM+6600GT AGP(requires 18-20A on 12v) +120 GB+250GB HDD and a 1 dvd writer ??

^Dun think so, the pictured psu is the older version with a single rail of 18/20A, the one available in the market is the one with dual 12v rails for 1.3k

There are version's available in d market, the one that u r talking about is VIP not powersafe moreover there are 3 different version's in Powersafe as well.

1) PS Silver ( NO 80 MM FAN)
2) PS Gold (no powered 80 MM FAN)
3) PS Golden Eagle.:clap: ( Comes with 80 MM)

The Powersafe "Golden Eagle ...??" is a good psu with above average components. It was designed about 5 years ago. This psu has more emphasis (quality) and output on the 5V rail (>40 Amps) since when it was designed the AMD socket A platform were just about beating the Intel P4 platform cpu's. As is well known the AMD socket A m/b's used the 5V rails for the cpu power.

IMHO , the actual , continous 12V output on this psu should be around 13 ~ 14 Amps with peaks (short term i.e. for a little while) of about 17 ~ 20 Amps.

until i got the Antec Quattro 850W psu i was using this psu (modded) to power my then following system.
m/b = Asus Striker Extreme , 680i
cpu = C2D 6550
mem = 2x1 GB DDR2
GPU = 7300GS
1 optical , 1 160GB HDD.

The system ran fine on mild loads with the 12V rails dipping to around 11.45 ~ 11.55V (well within the ATX specs) and the psu ran pretty hot (naturally due to the tremendous load on the 12V rails)

I do not know about this psu but mine was very old model which originally only had 20 pin ATX connector. (later modded to 24 pin)

if anybody is planning to use this psu with a mid to highend gfx card where the "ACTUAL" 12V requirements just for the card is more than 10 ~12 amps @ stock speeds should go in for a higher rated psu imho.

for most of the onboard gfx m/b's, or as mentioned above, with low wattage gpu's like 7300GS etc this psu should not give any problems.

Yep i too have the 400w golden powersafe psu and it is not sufficient for my 6800 GT OC edition which overheats a lot due to it.:)

I was askin about the zebronics PSU and not the powersafe PSU ..plzz ..clarify !

whats the 12 v rail ?
