hi i am getting a second hand(2months old) gainward 970 reference model. is it worth buying? how does it compare to other brands like zotac, asus etc. also does gainward provide 3 years warranty in india?

Gainward is just as good as zotac, asus etc. but there are other factors that need to be considered.
a) what is the cooler design like? post pics if possible
b) it looks like gainward does offer 3 warranty support in India however, you'll need to check and see if there is a service centre in your city.

c) what's the price? can't tell if it's worth buying or not without knowing the cost. for your reference - a new gtx 970 costs anywhere from 26k to 30k+.

(fyi, zotac offers 5 year warranty the rest are 2 or 3 years)

a> it is like reference model. like the most basic model of the card with only one blower fan. read online that it runs at slightly higher temperatures. to be exact this is the card-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tkj5Hq0IS4
b> i am from delhi so i guess it wont be a problem
c> does 18k for a 2 month old card qualify as good deal?

ok thanks bro. but any specific reasons why gainward would be bad invest??
Gainward RMA is dealt by savera from Kolkata and they take too much time to RMA a product and does not respond to calls and myself has bad experience with them so go with any other GPU Brand like Asus/MSI/Gigabyte etc.OK.

be advised asus is serviced by rashi and they're pretty rubbish with the rma process too. visited their office in chennai 4 times and still came away with a defective card. got so fed up i ended up buying something else rather than waste more time with them.
the asus 970 has a good cooling solution though.

yes bro i read so many bad reviews about them that its scary. the deal is almost finalised now. only other option is zotac which has its own set of problems according to many.

k, no worries. as long as they are both coming with 6+ months of warranty go with whichever costs the lowest.
i bought a used sapphire 280x that i rma'd but it's working fine now.

finally bought the asus gtx 970. got it at a good price for a 6 month old card. i hope it doesn't go kaput so that i don't have to face the horrors of rashi.
