Games similar to DOA for PC?

Does anyone know of games for PC which are similar to DOA(Xbox/PS2)?:huh:

There is a classic Mortal Combat 4 but apart from that I haven't seen any games in that genre for PC.

Yeah one-on-one fighters other than those damned WWF games are very rare. I have also looked for some good games in this genre, but they are very few in number. Anyways try Mythic Blades.

DOA really?

Couldn't you, you know just download some porn?? :D

BTW You've got the wrong machine if you want to play games like those. PS2 not a PC is your best bet. VF, Tekken, MK etc.

Thanks Nemesis. Will try that.

LOL!! :eek:hyeah: I haven't played DOA but I can guess where you are coming from :D

I know there are many 3D one-2-one fighting games available in PS2/Xbox but I am looking for some similar ones for PC.

The genre is called Fighting or beat-em-up, and its almost extinct on PC.

The DC Emu has some superb games like Street Fighter 3rd Strike, Soul Calibur, Marvel vs Capcom and Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs SNK etc, Tech Romancer, etc

A good DC Emulator (Chankast?) should run them all. Then you can get the Playstation emu and play Tekken and the MK's released on it.

Edit - I see you're looking for 3d only Fighting, but 3rd Strike and MvC2 have me still hooked to them, more upon any Tekken or Mortal Kombat on PS2 (or just get the Ps2 is you want the genre bad!)

What you need is Last Bronx, an awesome 1999 fighting game for the PC, no fireballs no nothing, just nunchucks, stick, hammers etc. Try it out, it's plenty fun :p

Yes, Last Bronx is a good one. But its kinda outdated now and seems to have stability issues with Win XP and the new graphics cards. Therese also a port of Guilty Gears for PC. Dont know how this game is.

Downloaded the Last Bronx demo from download.com and indeed it looks like a port of an ancient arcade game. Will try Mythic Blades which looks like more recent and with decent graphics.

So, what's the actual reason for the negativity surrounding the DOA series? I heard that it's because of the button mashing nature and lack of depth, making it more friendly to the casuals and driving away the hardcore. Wouldn't that just make it more popular though?

I wish they make Tekken for PC :p ... but yeah u can try all the PS1 games with the emulator , will run absolutely fine .. for PS2 games i'm currently downloading some and will report back as soon as i've tested those ...

Yeah, X360 only.

That's what I want to know. It certainly isn't doing as well as the Tekken or Virtua fighter or Soul Caliber series.

That may be because DoA is not "underground" enough. Its aimed at casual players, but those really into the fighting genre would prefer Tekken and Virtua Fighter over DoA.

They have a lot of tournaments in 'States and in the most gaming active parts in Asia in these games, it goes on to betting and gambling. Street Fighter 3rd Strike is still used over games like Soul Caliber.

I seem to remember having a 3d Street Fighter game. It runs through some sort of emulator. The name escapes me at the moment. Will check when I get back home.
