AMD AthlonII X3 435 3.9k
2GB 800MHz Kingston DDRII RAM 2k
Biostar A785GE 3.3k
Gigabyte Superb 460w 2.2k
CM Elite 310 1.5k
L.G. GH22NS30 /Samsung SH-S22F SATA DVD-Writer 1.1k
Logitech SET - Optical Blk Mouse+ MMKB 0.7K
TOTAL ~ 14.7K

AMD's heating issue is a thing of the past.

Now they offer the best mid-level VFM processors..so go ahead with AMD.

And yes its a 64bit proccy(infact it has been very long time since almost all the proccesors sold are 64bit.)

Proccy: AMD AthlonII X2 240 - 2.9k
Mobo: Gigabyte M61PME-S2 - 2.3k
RAM: 2GB 800MHz Kingston DDRII RAM - 2.1k
Case: Zebronics Bijili - 1.1k
PSU: FSP SAGAII 350w/ Zebronics Pro 350w - 1.5k
GPU: MSI ATI HD4650 512MB DDR2 - 3k/ MSI ATI HD4670 1GB DDR3 - 4.5k
DVD R/W: L.G. GH22NS30 /Samsung SH-S22F SATA DVD-Writer - 1.1k
KB+Mouse: Logitech SET - Optical Blk Mouse+ MMKB - 0.7K
TOTAL ~ 14.7k/16.2k

The FSP SAGAII 350w is a good entry level PSU. You can also try to get a 2nd hand HD4670 for 3-3.5k~ from the members market to keep costs under 15k and it would make a great gaming rig in ur budget :)

He already has a 4670 GPU

So remove the GPU from the costs & revise the other items upwards

He can also go for the 430W Seasonic for 3K but ofcourse its a overkill but future proof and VFM

Also would the members not recommend a CPU cooler as he will be gaming so the 220 CPU will be running at nearly 100% to power the 4670 & may face heating issues?

Sorry. Missed that completely :ashamed:
The stock HSF should do fine unless you O.C the processor quite a bit.

Proccy: AMD AthlonII X2 240 - 2.9k
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2/Gigabyte MA785GMT-US2H - 3k/5.5k
RAM: 4GB(2*2) 800MHz DDRII/2GB 1333MHz DDRIII Kingston RAM - 4.3k/2.8k
Case: Zebronics Bijili - 1.1k
PSU: Gigabyte Superb 460w / Corsair CX400 - 2.2k/2.8k
DVD R/W: L.G. GH22NS30 /Samsung SH-S22F SATA DVD-Writer - 1.1k
KB+Mouse: Logitech SET - Optical Blk Mouse+ MMKB - 0.7K
TOTAL ~ 15-17k

Choose between DDRII and DDRIII based set ups. DDRIII/ AM3 would be a bit more future proof in case he decides to upgrade RAM/ CPU in the future. But then you can also go for 4GB of DDRII RAM by skimping on the mobo.

For the PSU even the Gigabyte Superb 460w gives you lots of headroom to upgrade the GPU to say a HD5770 or add one/ two HDD's. But then it is not 80+ certified. So if u need a 80+ certified one go for the Corsair CX400/ Seasonic S12II 380w.

Thanks for the suggestion guyz . But my friend is very certain that he needs a 32 bit intel processor. So any suggestions ?? Please ??

are you sure ?. May i know in which place this price. In chennai today it costs 2.6k .

But e5400 is a dual core right ? I heard core 2 duo are far superior compared to dual cores. SO cant i get a core 2 duo which fits into my budget ????

You can get a much better processor & mobo if you are willing to buy a used one within your budget.

There are several on sale at quite attractive prices.
Bikey has 1 such combo on sale which i recall

Search the trade section for more such deals if you are willing to buy a used combo

If i replace AMD processor with e7500 my budget ll be around 16 k right ?

And last time when i enquired prices at richtie street with the prices specified in the forum, the prices were 500 RS more than what they have mentioned in the forum. Are the shopkeepers cheating us ???

And also if i get a core 2 duo processor i have to get a apt motherboard for that .. So please suggest a combo with core 2 duo and a appropriate motherboard.
