Ridiculous strategy first up, to match iphone's pricing and maybe get the premium image makeover.

Secondly, no wireless charging and no front dual speakers?

I dont know what the benchmark for saying the pricing is ridiculous is. Definitely it is in nowhere comparable or VFM like nexus but compared to iphone 7 i see it definitely being vfm still, which is the the reason for genesis of this product in first place
  • Google Pixel 32GB – Rs. 57,000
  • Iphone 7 - 60,000
  • Google Pixel 128GB – Rs. 66,000
  • Iphone 7 128GB - 70,000
  • Google Pixel XL 32GB – Rs. 67,000
    • Iphone 7 plus - 72,000
  • Google Pixel XL 128GB – Rs. 76,000
      • Iphone 7 plus 128 gb - 82,000

people are looking for a phone with good call reception, stable OS good battery life, nice camera and at some point branding. at the price the apple brand definitely seems to have the edge so far.

hahaha Says who??...please dont get started on android vs ios here...we all know what the battery, camera and especially the OS status of android vs ios is. Branding yes i dont believe in that but then again i am not an isheep

Wow what a pricing blunder..
It seems, They've hired Samsung brand management ; though the phone is made by HTC.

And above all, Battery of 2770mah? Its literally 'dead Pixel' now.

OP3 take a bow, you've been the most consistent in all these aspects.

Worse news is that, Nexus line will be discontinued

I just hope google pixel is having the same level of optimization like ios or atleast near that.
switching between ecosystem is not an option for me ...men i have paid for many apps and suddenly if you add that to phone it makes costly phone costlier. similarly many people from apple end also want to switch to android end but unfortunately they are also facing the similar problem.
That is why they are coming with the startegy of their lightning port headphone jack.
for me best(also can be read as hottest) android phone is samsung note 7 just for the sake of advancement i want pixel to be good compare to note 7.

I agree it lacks waterproofing but makes up for wireless charging through ultra fast charging plus do u need more then 128gb of storage anyway??

U.s price is around 45k for 128gb pixel I plan to get one at around 38k coming December
45k for 128GB Pixel what ?
Its $750 man, which in rupees comes out to be 50k (and thats at actual conversion rate, not at the rates we pay for conversion)

The Pixel XL 128GB will cost 58k ($869). I'm not sure what the USP of the Pixel even is considering its competitor, the S7 Edge (Exynos Dual Sim) sells for $600 (40k) now ?

A slightly better camera [No OIS though], better updates , unlimited photos and video storage [which makes even less sense considering our internet standards], better UI performance and daydream ready are all i can see

Lol at calling this the best and "godlike" when its barely better than a S7 camera and even worse in a few tests. S7 edge is a hands down better choice for a phone than this.

https://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/Pixel-smartphone-camera-review-At-the-top
With an overall DxOMark Mobile score of 89, pixel, the latest Google smartphone, is the highest-rated smartphone camera we have ever tested. Its image quality scores are impressive across the board, but it is particularly strong in providing a very high level of detail from its 12.3MP camera, with relatively low levels of noise for every tested lighting condition. It also provides accurate exposures with very good contrast and white balance, as well as fast autofocus......
...
Simply put, the Pixel raises the bar for what is possible with a smartphone camera. Image quality continues to improve, and the increased use of HDR+ to render scenes that have previously been difficult for small sensors such as those in smartphones broadens what is possible with these ubiquitous devices. While we have reviewed other smartphone cameras that matched the Pixel’s numbers in a few categories, the Pixel is uniquely capable of capturing outstanding images under a wide variety of conditions, and is also among the best we have tested for video capture.
