Sir first of all i think you need to upgrade your rig because your cpu will bottlneck with 15k gpu, thought you can get Amd HD7850-16k as your best bet and you'll need to get a better psu like Seasonic S12ii 620W-4.6k OR Corsair TX650V2-5.2k.

^you can get a 7850 for 15.5k if you are going to upgrade soon coz your current proccy is a serious bottleneck else get a 6850 or 7770 for 9k and you will have only small headroom left for overclocking...

I am going to update the rig in the end of the year but not now....I guess i'll go for any decent card that can fit in my current setup for the time being.

Then get a msi 6850 cyclone edition if possible bit better than HD7770 in performance will work decen with your current rig..

The best deal would be Sapphire HD6870-11.5k OR Msi Twin Frozrii Gtx 560ti-13.5k with Corsair VX550W-4.5k OR Seasonic S12ii 520W-3.6k,HD6850 isn't enough for Full HD gaming,op needs minimum HD6870 for it.

Even 560ti will be a bottleneck for him, also he needs to get a new psu and have to oc his proccy..Getting 6850 will save some cash for his future upgrade unless he wants to play it in eyecandy..he can even go for 7850 instead of 560ti which can be run in your current psu itself the 6850 runs on load 170w max and the new 7850 uses less since you have more watt on your 12v rail i think there won't be a problem..

OP won't be upgrading so HD7850 is out of the question due to cpu bottleneck,so HD6870+Seasonic S12ii 520W-3.7k is the best deal,HD6870 gives better performance in full hd gaming and VX450 can't handle HD6870 Overclocking which op will do eventually plus he will oc his cpu so this combination would be good.

I would suggest that you should go for HD7850.

Reasons-

1) You are upgrading later this year, so it will save your graphics card upgrade.

2) Even though minimum recommended power supply is 500W, I highly doubt you rig would reach even 450W (hd7850's 28nm tech), unless you have lots of hdds and fans. Just don't oc the card untill you upgrade.

3) It will be lame to upgrade to a 11k gpu and then again putting 15k on this when you upgrade.

I agree that you won't get full performance with HD7850 due to bottleneck, you always have a headroom to gain performance with cpu upgrade.

Hope this helps

Ya i agree with #[member='GameR1120'] Now days most games are gpu dependent and you will see very small bottleneck in games or atleast it will reduce to grt extend..moreover you got a decent c2d oc your proccy to 3.8 or 4 ghz will let you play the game for another few months till you upgrade..

If op were to OC his cpu he'll need atleast CM Hyper 212 Evo-2.2k to accomplish that,i agree that it's not good to add 11k to a gpu which is half the performance of HD7850,Then again it's upto op to get the HD7850-16k with CM Hyper 212 evo which he can use in long run.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys....

I would be sending this rig to my nephew ( minus the HD and Monitor) when I upgrade to a new one so it has to have all components intact. I cant update this rig with future in mind.

I have decided to go for a 6850 and sacrifice gaming for a few months.

Once again...thanks to everyone for their valuable input.

Ok whatever suits you,HD6850 will run comfy on VX450,so enjoy and post the pics when you get it.
