HDMI upscaler for DTH/cable connection

Hello people,

I have come across a no. of hardware upscalers listed on ebay US site. They upscale component video (Y,Pb,Pr) to 720p or 1080p and thus can be used in conjunction with cable/DTH to have better quality of video on big LCD TV. They can be also used with laptops without HDMI output (with an additional VGA to Y,Pb,Pr cable)

The cheapest 1080p upscaler ones start from approx. $45 on ebay US. (Shipping to india will of course additionally cost at least 1k) 720p upscalers cost a little less.

Can anyone throw some light on the availability of these upscalers in India ?

yeah i guess most of the TVs do have tht option,at least some of the BRAVIAs with BE3 does have!

I am not sure how effective is the inbuilt upscaler is.

well the in built upscaler in sony and samsung are quite good.every lcd tv today have a upscaler.
