Help me decide please.. :)

Hey guys,
Since I am getting no response at all at the "TE PC Buying Guide March 2010" thread, i though it would be better to start a new one to get more visibility. :eek:hyeah:

Want to get a mid budget rig..
Need it for some casual gaming and 1080p playback with some PS thrown in..
Saw the config recommendations in the the "TE PC Buying Guide March 2010" thread and went to the local market ( Lucknow ) for the same.. Was surprised to see great price fluctuations and no love for AMD.. :( ..
Willing to spend max 25k..
Need:
Proccy + Mobo + RAM + HDD + Graphics Card + Cabinet + SMPS ..
Already have a Dell S2409W + Philips SPA5300 + KB/Mouse..
Was looking at the options available and found out the following are the only things available locally:
1) Proccy + Mobo:
a) AMD Phenom X2 555BE + Asus M7N68AM = 8100/-
b) AMD Phenom X4 925 + Asus M4A78EM = 12200/-
c) AMD Phenom X2 555BE + Asus M4A78EM = 10300/-
d) Intel Core i3 + Intel DH55TC = 10700/-
e) Intel Core i5 750 + Intel DP55WB = 15700/-

2) RAM:
a) 2GB DDR 3 ( No Kingston/Corsair etc available ) Simmtronics/Irion = 3000/-
b) 2GB DDR 2 ( Same companies ) = 2300/-

3) HDD:
a) 500GB WD/Seagate = 2350/-

4) Graphics Card:
a) ATI Radeon 5750 = 9000/-
b) NVIDIA GT250 = 8850/-
c) ATI Radeon 4570 = 7350/-

5) Cabinet:
a) Any Normal Cabinet = 1.1-2k/
b) CM ( Beginner model, vendor wasnt sure abt the model no. ) w/ SMPS (450W) = 4500/-

6) PSU (If taken extra):
a) FSP Saga 500W = 3100/-
b) CM 450W = Upwards of 3.5k ( model no. unknown + will take a week to come after pre-ordering..
c) FSP Epsilon 700W = 6100/-
d) FSP Everest 800W = 7500/-

Now my main dilemna is regarding Proccy + Mobo + Graphics Card..
Also should i go for DDR2 4GB ( 2*2)..??

Please help guys..!!
TIA.. :)

Whoa... Simmtronics DDR3 @ 3,000 :mad::mad:

I think it might be better if you brought stuff from Itwares or Mediahome and get it shipped to your place... That might be cheaper.. These are the prices from theitwares.com
GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H 4,500
or
MSI 785GM-E51 AM3 5,000

AMD Athlon II X4 620 5,150

GSkill 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) - 2,350
or
CORSAIR 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 - 2950

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB - 2350

CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W - 2800
or
CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W - 3,800

Sapphire Radeon HD5670 1GB - 6,500 @ mediahome.in

So it's 23,650 for a 2 GB DDR2/ 24,750 for a 2 GB DDR3 based rig...
A cabinet is a shipping hassle so you are stuck with buying one of the local ones...

Procc: Core i7 750

Mobo: Asus P7P55D

Graphic:5750

HDD: Buy Segate as WD is hving service issue it takes 1month for RMA

PSU: Cosair 500w

Cabinet: CM690

RAM: DDR3

If you need a DDR3 RAM I am hving OCZ platinum 1600Mhz.

Go through his post man...:tongue::tongue:

Hmm... Thanks.. :eek:hyeah:
But shipping is a big hassle.. Esp in UP.. Anything shipped which is worth ~ or > 5k requires a sales tax invoice which nobody gives.. Had really bad experience with getting some PMPs and Game CEs shippings..!!.. Thats why wanted to procure locally.. :(

u too from lko :hap2: i am too upgrading my PC so we too can combine and ask for better discount ..... did u got the rates from naza market

as far as itwares rahul is concern i have successfully done business with him but make sure u have service center in lko otherwise its a nightmare to deal with that b@st#d rahul
i replaced my 9800GT for repair and after 3 months i am still waiting for his response

Man you should go in for the following config

AMD Phenom II 555 BE or AMD Athlon II x4 620 -- 5K to 7K

RAM DDR 3 -- 5K - 6K ( Transcend )

GIGABYTE 785GMT UD2H -- 6K

Western Digital Blue 500GB -- 2.5K or similar Seagate

CORSAIR 450W -- 4K

ATI Radeon HD 5570 or 5670 -- 7K to 8K

NZXT Gamma or Cooler MAster Elite 310 -- 2K

Sum it up for yourself

I think go with St.John's advice get this all procured from THE IT WARES or PRIME ABGB and don't have any hassles later instead of substituting for cheaper or shoddier parts from LKO as I to am from the place but aint residing there due to family and college :eek:hyeah:

Hey.. :) ..

Just checked the thread.. though already got the rig now.. :p ..

Was looking for AMD X2 555BE + Mobo based on S710 as could unlock the dual core to quad core.. But here the only mobo available is Asus M2-something, which is like a budget board used for AMD Sempron.. .. Even AMD dealers had no other boards.. Spent nearly 4-5 days hunting for AMD.. But trust me, if you are getting your rig from Naza, please please dont go for AMD as you will be having a nightmarish time running for warranty.. :( ..

Anyways, after a lot of searching, found this shop called "Computer Vision" (Right side in the 1st lane..).. Prices were the lowest i could get anywhere, plus he is the only guy dealing in CM, Razor, GSkill and the likes.. :| ..

So finally overshot my budget, and settled for the following:

1) Intel Core i5 750 + Intel DP55W Mobo = 15800/-

2) GSkill 2GB DDR3 = 3000/- (Others were giving SImmtronics, Transcend,Irion etc.)

3) 320GB WB Blue = 1900/-

4) CM 310 Elite Cabinet with transparent panel = 2200/- ( Has 690 and many other awesome cabinets.. )

5) 600W CM Extreme Power Series PSU = 4200/- (Corsair not available, Only CM/IBall/Zebronics/FSP)

6) Samsung DVD Writer SATA = 1100/- ( Had Sony for 1200/- and HP for 1250/-)

7) XFX ATI Radeon 4850 = 7800/- ( Was looking for 5xxx series, none were available in the market.. also tried a Sapphire 4770 from the AMD dealer, but wasn't working.. :( )

So did overshoot my budget to 32.5k, but then guess Core i5 would last for at least 2 1/2 to 3 years.. plus can upgarde my Graphics card later when i will have some spare cash.. :)

PM me if you have any problems.. :)

i got my CM 500W SMPS from "Computer Vision" (Right side in the 1st lane..) shop 6-7 months bak

any way nice build .... i am happy that gskill is available in lko will go for it now

as for AMD i too searched for it but in vain so ordered it online from ITWARES

a shop owner offered be 555be + gigabyte mobo but it will take 15 days time to come, as gigabyte mobo is even not available even in Chennai so ordered online

personally i dont like intel mobo's as they dont have integrated graphic[which have integrated graphic cant be compared to amd for VFM]

as for the service if its a small issue then it can be repaired in lko itself but for a complicated issue they will send the product to there head office and that take time [intel, amd both]

just a question did u came calling nazim in his shop [zamzam computers] around 7 days bak for ddr3 mobo and quad core ????

Zamzam computers..?? .. Lol.. No idea bro.. Though i did hunt all around that place for a couple of days before taking the plunge.. :) .. I just remember 2 shops, Computer Vision and InfoShoppe as these quoted the lowest prices.. :)

man am also in for buying the mobo proccy and ddr3 rams
if we all combine and buy whther he will offer in good prices
but am in pondicherry
i have 8800gt so i prefere board without onboard gfx
but not interested in micro atx forms

i think this board will suit me
Gigabyte GA-770T-USB3

buddy we r in lucknow so combine rates wont be applicable for us ... any way if u are a gamer then but a gigabyte GA -MA785GMT-US2H board it has onbard gaphic which will combine with 8800GT and boost the performance
i too have 9800GT and will buy this mobo only for hybrid support :hap2:

^ If you are talking about hybrid crossfire, you are mistaken. 785g chipset can crosffire with something like 3450. You cannot crossfire with 8800gt. Anyway 8800gt is much more powerful than 785g, so even if CF would have been possible, it wouldn't have been of any use.

Hello has any of you heard about Nvidia and ATI , doesn't seem like as you plan to combine an AMD IGP with a Nvidia card and that can never happen :rofl:

As for hybrid Crossfire the boards support the following Cards

ATI HD 3450
ATI HD 3470
ATI HD 4550
ATI HD 4570
