The news is flooded with 1080p (1920x1080) displays for smartphones as details for four smartphones packing 1080p display panels got leaked just this week. It seems only last week when WVGA on a 4" display was considered high end. After Sony, HTC and Oppo, it's time for a Huawei device to take a ride down rumor land.

Huawei Ascend Mate

Huawei Asced Mate is Huawei's take on phablets, and man have they gone all out on it. They are literally making a device that screams, "Galaxy Note II, I am bigger than you" with everything, from display to processor to battery being bigger, faster, better. Let's take a look at what this monster of a smartphone will pack.
  • 1.8 GHz quad core Huawei K3V3 (possibly ARM Cortex A15)
  • 6.1" Full HD(1920x1080) 1080p display
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 9.9 mm thick chassis
  • 4,000 mAh rated battery
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Huawei has bee manufacturing it's own SOCs and word is that the Ascend Mate will pack their latest and greatest K3V3 chipset (rumored to pack ARM Cortex A15 based quad core CPU, no word on the GPU). The phone will pack 2 GB of RAM, which is now the new standard for flagship smartphones. The display is stunning at 6.1" and packing a 1080p Full HD resolution. It simply doesn't get better.

Oh wait, it does. Backing up the phone is a humongous 4,000 mAh battery (nearly tablet like battery rating) which should easily power more than 1 day of full use. All this is packed under a slim 9.9 mm chassis. The OS of the choice is most likely Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

There is no word on pricing yet, but don't expect this to come cheap or before MWC 2013.
