iOS iPhone overheating issue

Since the last few days I am having overheating issues with my iPhone. Also it's not getting charged beyond 80 %. Any known causes? I had same issue on my brand new iPhone 8 aswell and draining the battery solved the problem. But this is different because with this iPhone, the problem started after 6 months. And in my gaming room, I don't even have an A/C installed. Can you guys please suggest me as on what to do?Also I have read in a lot of news articles that Apple has been sued for deliberately draining aging devices performance

Heating up means its doing something. What ?

Apple slowing down devices will have the opposite effect. Since the CPU can't run at top speed it will run cooler.
