Is Mega banned in India?

My ISP seems to be leasing internet from both Jio and Airtel. From past month I cant open any mega links at all. Keep getting Secure connection failed error.

Code:
Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to mega.nz. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
. Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem.

Usually if it was blocked by DOT, you would get that DOT message. Even page source does not load.

traceroute shows its going to airtel servers and ends on some EU address. Google search shows Airtel is blocking mega from October 2019. Is it blocked for you too?

Links working here on BSNL FTTH in Pune.

Note that it is not necessary that the DoT message will be displayed for blocked websites. Some sites just give that error that you are facing when blocked by ISP.

Opens on Siti Cable with https. Keep in mind mega downloader app doesn't work as http must be hardcoded in the code base.

I have been using NordVPN for the past 4months now. On a 160 Mbps connection my downloads top out at 50 Mbps for http/p2p traffic when connected to Singapore servers.

Guess Airtel has a habit of destroying things...
Well all mobile operators e.g. Jio/Airtel/Voda have solid infra for blocking these kinda stuff. I guess its easy to port over the blocking mechanism to their broadband networks as well.

Thats why I didn't pick Jio Fiber and stuck to local Siti Cable. At least they don't aggressively block everything.

If you go with NordVPN it would be 125 USD for 3 years subscription for 6 devices. Keep in mind though that port forwarding won't work.

I have also heard good things about PIA but never tried them out personally. It seems to be cheaper @40 USD per year.

I only wanted Mega for subtitle files. I dont download English movies, music albums etc. When this blocking becomes too much and I had enough, maybe I'll shift to another ISP first. If even they are blocking then last option would be to get a vpn if I can't even read emails or watch youtube.

try accessing it via opera. it has a built in vpn and i was able to access sites that were showing "Secure connection failed" on firefox.
DO they push ads while browsing through vpn? Last time i used it on android, they were pushing their own ads in browser.

What kind of subtitles are you looking for?

For me personally subscene/podnapisi for movies and addic7ed.com for series work pretty well.

Just occasional old jpn anime subtitles from people on nyaa who upload them there. I can do without those subs too but i can't read Japanese kanji on screen fully. Theres other sites like animetosho but thats just direct links to file share sites which are down mostly.

For Kb sized downloads like these I would suggest Opera VPN.Download .srt files and close the browser.

Theres an extension for Chrome called Frigate CDN which is good enough as well but they might be mining data.

Using 1.1.1.1 app on phone to visit such links which ssem to be blocked by Airtel and Jio. For me it works much faster than Opera VPN. You can even buy a plan for just 70/month if you find speeds to be slow but I haven't seen any speed slowdown with my 12Mbps connection.

Thats just using Cloudflare DNS. Airtel must definitely be implementing a better blocking mechanism. Jio blocks sites even if you set a custom DNS.

Can you try the following on Windows cmd-
nslookup www.mega.nz 1.1.1.1
