It will sport a 4.5 inch qHD display which is quite good for this price segment , and it will be powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor . However , the chipset model is not disclosed yet . It will pack a 8 Megapixel snapper and a front facing camera for video call as well . Apart from this , it will have other standard features like GPS , 3G , Wi-Fi .

Nah. Not interested. A90 is 12k, Smart A24 is 13k.

But A90 is a single core Cortex A5 with ancient Adreno 200 GPU. Shitty for 12k.

And Smart A24 will have a 4.5" qHD display instead. With Jelly Bean. Don't know why Micromax can't launch a decent phone with latest OS and good specs (A85 was stuck on 2.2 and locked boot loader, shit)

Sorry about not starting a new thread, but there are far too many announcements like this one.
Maybe we should start a new sticky thread for new Indian smartphone launches?

It boils down to availability. It's really tough to source a Karbonn locally, and the A9 kept going out of stock, and it's price kept rising.
Micromax shouldn't have those problems, and it'll advertise more, so it'll appeal to non-technophiles.
Plus it's a dual-sim, and there's no mention that the Karbonn A24 is one too.

Karbonn Smart A24 is a dual core. Currently no dual core chipset it dual sim. I think some new Mediatek processor is, but we are 3-5 months away seeing handsets based on that (as it has just been announced)

If only they can bump up the brightness of the screens (improve legibility outdoors).... may be we are not far off the day. Look forward to this new Karbonn reviews.

Five more low-budget, high spec androids have been released today, from G'Five.
They've got screens between 4" and 5.3".
3 are running ICS, and 2 gingerbread.
And most of them have an 8 mega-pixel cam!

All GFIVE phone will be with Mediatek processor ... mediatek is not great supportive to developers who work for custom ROM so thumbs down for them regarding karbonn have to wait for info about Processor and Chip-set

Karbonn A18 already released... lets hope news for A24 also .... really waiting for review of A18 also ... some what we can expect same for A24

I like A18 more than the micromax offering A100 and A90 simply because of their better vfm features let's hope A24 amaze us when it launches
