LAN Blues

Hey guys I havve this problem once at least in a Month

My LAN though the cable is connected and everything is Ok......but it still gives "Network Cable Unplugged"
Everytime i have to delete it and create it again
I tried changing the cables also but no avail

Any Ideas? maybe NIC gone?

There is a set of pins on the cable which meets a similar set of socket in the LAN card.... sometimes, the LAN card pins will be bent..... Then it will say that the cable is disconnected even though it is connected...

Just use a torch and peer into the slot for the cable...... Sometimes you can see the pins which are bent... you can straighten it out by using a thin screwdriver...

But when LAN is disconnected it is from d ISp's side not from ur side...from our side we can only disable the LAn or else the statement would come iff uve pulled out ur wire...HellScream....did u ask ur ISP???

Maybe the switch thru which you are connected is malfunctionin....ask the cablewala to check the switch

yep wraith

if switch/hub power is down , you will see "network cable unpluged".
check power supply to switch when this happens.

where is that?????

Right click on My network places , select properties.
Right Click on the Local Area Network Connection , select properties.
Then click on the configure button next to the highlighted name of your LANcard.
Select tab under "Advanced" , there you will find the abovementioned property. :)
