Guys suggest a laptop for my friend.

Max budget - 35K
Brands not preferred - Acer
Screen size - 14 or 15

if there is any good deals going on then please do mention. even if it does not have any graphics card.

also that Lenevo Thinkpad X series [not sure about name] can come under this ? which are said to give 20 hours back up :O
 
processor power wise the i5 480M is superior. But graphics wise the i3 2310M is much superior and also gives better battery life!

You will not need more than what the i3 2310M offers for basic and slightly demanding scenarios.

GT 525M = suck gaming experience, hands down

I saw Chip mag this month list Lenovo Y570 I guess with GT555M and i5 processor or i7 i think for 42,990. Too good to be true, but worth checking out.
 
Combine the Dell 15R with Nvidia - GT525M
You should be getting a decent config sub 40k with that. Check out demos before pulling the trigger on that.
