Video LCD / LED TV - Minimum 46".......Over to you guys

True. But does a 30k difference in price warrant the PQ that i will get in a samsung as against the scarlet.
Consider sony out of race. Its between LG and samsung now.

If you are going for a LCD TV then these are today's prices

Location : Vijay Sales, Ghatkopar (But rates are uniform across all stores)

Samsung 46" LCD

Model : LA46B530

Price : 73,000 INR (VSP).

LG 47" LCD

Model : 47LH35

Price : 65,800 INR (VSP).

The 47LH50 with 200Hz Motion flow should be for about 8k more.

Also +5% Discount on next sale within 3 month.T&C Apply.

^^ Sorry if i am wrong but it seems you work for Vijay Sales. I went to the Borivali branch today and i was told about the 5% off thing and was told that i will get a gift voucher. I am not interested in all these. No free gifts or vouchers. Discount..yes that is appreciated.

Assuming you are from VS, may i ask if you have LG scarlet 2.0 47" and what is its price ??

Moreover 46" is what is my minimum requirement.

nope. i'm not working for any vijay sales stores but have been on the lookout to buy an lcd tv before 1st jan 2010 hopefully within budget of 70,000 max.

The LG Shoppe in CHembur near Shoppers Stop is giving the 47lh35 at 68,000 and 47lh50 at 75,000 (approx).

^^ Can you also ask about the Sacrlet 2.0 47LH70 there ?? I am also trying to find a showroom in western suburbs where i can see the scarlet. Any one can help here ??

Or is there anyone here who owns a scarlet 2.0 47" ???

Guys i am confused to the core now.

I read in reviews that the sound of scarlet is not good and it will not allow 5.1 Home theater connectivity ??? What does that mean ???

Is the sound that bad ??? Although i never pump up the volume that high so high sound is not required but yes decent enough would be good.

I am not planning to buy a home theater any time soon. I will have to be content with the TVs default speakers.

After checking the scarlet features and specs i am really not inclined to pay 30k more for 1 inch less screen and a LED LCD TVof samsung. I can rather put that 30 k to buy something else and 30k is indeed a big amount.

Also i see that the LG Jazz / Jazz Theater do not come in sizes above 42" :(

Update:

After too much of deciding on what to buy i have decided to buy the Samsung UA46B6000VR LED and lowest quote in Mumbai i got was 1 Lakh 6 thousand. Anywhere else i can get lower ??? Planning to buy it next week. Deal under 1 Lakh would be sweet though.

well thats a subjective question, but i would pay.even if u can get the 46b650 its still better then the lg.

^^Yes B650 is also an option but i would save a few thousand rupees compared to the UA46B6000 so i better buy the LED LCD rather than compromise with only an LCD.

Now i am trying to get the best quote for the Samsung LED. Hunting the dealers in Mumbai :p

^^ I am getting the 46" LED six series for 1 lakh 6 thousand. They actually have an offer where they are bundling the 22" TV which i am not interested in. So i told all dealers that i dont want that bundle and then offers i got ranged from 1.6L to 1.15L. With that 22" LCD thrown in they all are charging 1.35 Lakh.

I have seend LG LH90 on display @ Croma Pune , price quoted was 68k for 42" one... this was just a week after I bought my Samsung B6000 42" LED TV @ 82k from Radhika Sales , chinchwad (w/o any offers)... Nonetheless I am quite happy with purchase because my sammy plays 720p/1080p HD movies over the USB :hap2: ... this saved my close to 10k bucks which i would hv hd to spend on media player to enjoy HD content ...

^^ I think you may have got a lower price because of no octroi in PCMC area. Mumbai would be a bit expensive. Getting the 46" B6000 for 1.06L.
Can you give me the number of radhika sales so i amy ask them quote for 46" one. Although getting from Pune would be an impractical decision i think.

Just contacted Radhika Sales, Chinchwad, he quoted 1.05 Lakh. So no point getting from there.

^^ That is way too out of budget. So going for 6 series.

Just a headsup. I contacted JP Electronics in Borivali and they gave me rate of 1.04 Lakh. If no one goes below this then this is the best bet as i stay in Borivali only. The guy there told me that he will do something (read price negotiation) when we actually go for buying the TV.

Yeaa , might be because of lower taxes...

But try to get a quote for TV from less "bing bing" showrooms ... because for my B6000 40" LED Tv I was quoted 1lakh w/o any offers @ Vijay sales and 1.12 lakh in croma wid 22" TV free walla offer... thats freakin 18k diference in MRP dude ! , even if I consider i save 8% octroi in PCMC then too difference should not be more than 8k ...

^^ Yup that's exactly what i am doing now. Bigger stores are quoting very high prices. As i mentioned above the lowest i got is 1.04 Lakh. But i expect them to reduce it further when i actually go to buy the TV.

Anyone else i Mumbai can suggest any stores where i should ask rates ?? No big stores like Vijay sales, Croma etc but smaller shops.

Have you tried ezone in raghuleela.i was comparing prices and they were competitive if you have a future card you get the best prices that was my experience.
I am overwhelmed by the no of rich people living in borivali.i too live in same area but not as rich. :-(
Also sony mony had an offer going with some scratch card which gives discounts upto 50%. If you might be lucky

Lol...not rich buddy. I have been saving money since September 2008 to buy a big screen TV and am buying it now. Couple of overseas trips helped me build my bank balance :p

I am yet to try ezone, that is the only shop i have not been in Borivali. I think i will call them and ask the rate.

I called up sony mony and they said they did not have any LED TVs.

Ok so last and final quote i got from JP Electronics in Borivali is 1,02,700 rupees along with that he is giving some 50 movie DVD pack (this is irrelevant). Anywhere else where i can get any better offer ???

Anyone staying near Raghullela can please get me the final rate of the UA46B6000 ??? They are not giving rate over the phone.

Its a bit urgent as i need to make partial payment in next couple of days.

Ok Guys...here is an update...
The electronics shop guy told me that Samsung does not have stock of the UA46B6000 currently. This showroom guy has taken a 20k advance from me and has offered to return back immediately as non availability of the TV.
Additionally he also said that samsung is coming up with some other offer now (like the 22" LCD bundled in diwali one). This time it is some sort of game. I suspect it to be PS3 but that is just my speculation and can be entirely wrong as samsung would never give a sony product as a combo offer.
He said that unlike last time where dealers used to remove the LCD from the combo and reduce the price, this time probably this is not gonna be allowed by samsung and that combo has to be purchased.

What are your suggestions now ?? Should i wait for the TV now ???
Anyone has any idea about this upcoming offer ??
I expect the rates now to be back to 1.2 Lakh or something (in combo offer offcourse).

^^ yep re, i too was informed of the same....PS3 is coming with the LED TVs.and after the purchase of the TV, the bill will be sent back to Samsung HO from where the console will be sent to the customer directly billed in his name , NOT TO THE DEALER.and the processing time for the same is 30-40 days is what they told me.

PS: U sure u wanna go the LED Edgelit LCD TV way mate? Have u checked the specialist forums for the negatives on the same?Am also on the market for a 46" one, but have decided with the LCD mdoels coz of the horrendous quality of LED ones.
