Lens Suggestion & where to buy..

Hi all,

Posting on TE after a loong time...

Well just bought Canon 450D with the kit lens (18-55mm IS). I got it from a canon authorised dealer (Peoples camera) at DN road fort.

1. Suggest some reputed dealers for photographic equipment. Apart from those at FORT (they will try to rip u :mad: ) and JJMehta (has bcome costly these days)

2. Plz suggest me a good telephoto lens (55 - 300mm ) for general purpose use.

Well, you have two choices. Canon 55-250mm IS and Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro.

If you have the dough and are ready to spend 30K on a lens, buy Canon 70-300mm IS.

A telephoto lens needs IS. Get the 55-250mm lens. Very good performer aside from the plastic mount.

Or spend the dough and get the 70-300 mm IS. A really solid lens.
