After doing a bit of research and looking at all your posts, here's what i've narrowed down on:

It was a close call between Phenom II X2 - 555 BE and the Athlon X4 635. Checked out some benchies on AnandTech and found that 555BE performs better in games - about 8 to 15 fps in most cases. While in encoding and multithreaded applications the 635 gives a 30 percent better performance.

I'm a little worried about the prices. Are they correct?
@compaddict are you sure about the price tag on the HD5670?

Hope tomorrow at Lamington i don't get a rude shock.
 
Quite an uneventful day at Lamington Road today. Biostar TA785G3 was not available and the Athlon 635 was scarce. So the shop guys were trying to sell me a combo of 630 + TA785G3 HD for 10.7k which is again ridiculous. Sapphire Radeon HD5670 was available for Rs.6000. A good 800 bucks more than mediahome.in

Current status - have booked possibly the last HD5670 on mediahome.in (thanks Chiron) and have bought everything except board and memory. Went in for the 555BE @ Rs. 5,500 cuz the price of 635 being quoted was 6.2k !

Interestingly one of the shop guys showed me the 785GM e51 board from MSI. It had a 'stable core unlock' feature that was supposed to transform my 555BE into a quad. Is this for real? Must read up on this... Can anyone shed any light?

Till then waiting for tuesday for banks to open.

Get the Biostar TA785G3 frm Mediahome.in
3650+250(shipping) - 3900rs. Shipping seems slightly higher for a microATX board as usally ppl charge only 150rs for mobo.

But then as it is not available/costly locally it is cheap even at this price of 3900rs shipped.
 
I've gone and bought everything except the Motherboard. Anuj from mediahome.in is shipping the card but the Mobo is out of stock. Anyone know where i can get it from?

There was a crazy amount of work this past month and so my purchase got delayed. The biostar is not available anywhere ! Lynx had it but not anymore :-(
Would be very grateful if anyone can suggest another board in the same price range... Thanks...

PS. I have all the components except the MB and RAM
 
Get the MSI -785 E53 . Very Stable with Full ATX form factor. I am using it with Athlon X2 635 2.8Ghz. Proc + MB combo cost me 10400/-.
